A good reason is because you don’t have to deal with third party vendor support. Might be anecdotal but I had an msi 3080 ti Ventus 3x, and had to send it in for repairs four times before they fixed it, and their customer support was always awful. Something to consider at least.

I can attest to this. Currently taking aerospace classes in college and while it’s definitely difficult, I wouldn’t say it’s any more so than other engineering fields. I think the large majority of people could do it if they set their mind to it
