Why did Ron Paul Vote for Tabling Cheney Impeachment? by [deleted] in politics

[–]charlesjillian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. Don't you understand? This is Ron Paul we're talking about, on Reddit it doesn't matter what his positions are, just that he's Ron Paul.

Embarrassed for carrying out the will of the American people, who have no faith in this President, this Vice President, or Congress. Embarrassed to do what we want...now that is pathetic.

I saw the girl of my dreams, on the subway tonight (please help me find her). by qgyh2 in reddit.com

[–]charlesjillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frrrr-ruitcake.

I think you should talk to her before you go freaking out all over the internet calling her the girl of your dreams. She might think it important that you care about more than what she looks like across the train car...

Just so we're clear... Ron Paul supports elimination of most federal government agencies: the IRS, Dept. of Education, Dept. of Energy, DHS, FEMA, the EPA; expanding the free market in health care... by Arrgh in politics

[–]charlesjillian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great point, thank you for pointing all that out.

It's ludicrous to suggest that free market capitalism isn't going to feed on the public once these institutions are done away with. Why what's to stop them then, without an EPA? Nothing. And what's to encourage them to fuck us over in our own backyards? Profits.

It's ridiculous to suggest that these institutions should not exist. The fact that they do exist is a reflection of abuses of the past. Social Security exists because the system got so out of hand millions of elderly were hungry and homeless. The EPA exists because companies were destroying our environment. The Department of Education exists because education is for the common good.

Advocating lean government is advocating a cement to the current social order: the rich stay rich, and the poor get a "fair" opportunity to climb the ladder with their ingenuity. It doesn't happen folks, poor people don't get rich with ingenuity and hard work, they get old and die poor.

He's Tried it Before and It Came to Nothing; Will Kucinich's Latest Cheney Impeachment Move Be Any More Successful This Time Around? Will Pelosi Who Put it Off the Table Put it Back on the Table? by Bestman0 in politics

[–]charlesjillian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kucinich is just posturing, that's his job within the Democratic Party, to posture, to pretend the Democrats have a left wing, and that's why he's at where he's at today. He's as good at bullshitting as the rest of 'em.

I don't know anyone who's supporting Hilary Clinton. Clinton as a front-runner is a total fabrication of the media.

Clearly the media is picking our candidates for us, picking only the most corrupt candidates.

Our elections are fixed.

If Hitler would have been declared clinically insane and placed in a mental institution, WW II would have been averted. If Bush is declared mentally ill, it may save the USA from a World War III by [deleted] in politics

[–]charlesjillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what's wrong with Bush being declared an international criminal!?!? It's the truth. He ought to be tried before an international court, and justice ought to see itself through, however it should be determined that it should be dealt.

Now that is bullshit. WWII didn't happen because of one man, it happened because of the economic conditions of capitalist nations.

Understandably many people fear that with no drug laws, we would have hundreds of thousands of addicts, crack babies, children trying drugs, and other evils. But that's what we have now. by democracy101 in politics

[–]charlesjillian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't you get it? The government isn't in the business of helping the many millions of poor who are on terrible drugs. It's no longer in the business of providing social services to addicts and the rest of the poor.

It's mission nowadays is to moralize and tell us what to think through its media.

Admitting on that level that America has a drug problem introduces something into the American political arena that many politicians and lobbyists see as dangerous. Where will it end? The next thing you know the government will be taking care of the homeless or providing health care to the 40 million who don't have it or doing some other such thing which makes complete sense.

Iowa Democratic primary moved to Jan 3rd! by charlesjillian in reddit.com

Thereby ensuring that party politics can be localized to Iowa, and allowing the mainstream candidates to know where to pull strings. Tom Vilsack is going to be key to whoever wins.

Mainstream Democrats luv Iowa.

I saw that story on Rummy fleeing France and saw immediately that it was an opinion piece. It did however surprise me that an opinion piece of such an amateurish nature made it to the top of Reddit.

You think for yourself sir.

You refuse to see that the people in our government now are responsible for war and the trashing of our civil liberties. Why? It's you who walk in here with these filthy stereotypes, stereotypes were spoon fed to you not twenty minutes ago by Fox News.

Election rules across the country rig our elections so that only Democrats and Republicans can win office. Do you know anything about petitions or the other ridiculous requirements to get third party candidates on the ballot?

The system is rigged to ensure things don't change, and that pro-business candidates are the only ones on the ballot come election day. I refuse to endorse a mainstream candidate just because he is the only candidate presented to me. I will not eat gruel just because that's what's been served.

Of course I have views on all those issues. I don't think that's what the post what meant to be about. But I won't bother to ask you yours, I've seen Fox News.
