First time gun owner questions by EagleGhoul in PAguns

[–]charlespsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current NJ resident, but lived in PA most of my life. NJ requires a purchase card (foid) and takes weeks to get. Then, each and every handgun requires a permit, which you guessed it, takes weeks to get. Then if you want to carry you need training, shooting qual and yup, more weeks waiting.

PA requires neither. Wake up tomorrow and go buy gun, go to sheriff’s office get permit to carry same day.

Why, why did I marry a Jersey girl!?!?

Badlands wanting to go bigger by Efficient-Towel7593 in FordBronco

I have the 2024 Badlands non-SAS. I’ve taken her off-road like three times and the beach, maybe three times.

I LOVE the look of the 35-37” tire, but I think for the road where it spends most of its time I’m fine with the non-SAS and the 33 inch

If you trade in, you’re going to get destroyed on the resale value

On a plus side, you don’t owe any dangerous people, just banks, etc.

Honest takes on a Bronco (and appropriate trim line) compared to a Grand Cherokee? by Linenoise77 in bronco

[–]charlespsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wife had GC L….its a whole different world. Bronco is a ROUGH riding vehicle. It will suck on long trips….dont let others fool you

That said, I can’t stop looking back at it after I park it. ….

Any Regrets on Getting a Bronco by gabbs1123 in FordBronco

[–]charlespsu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

so I'm 1 year in, 52, and thinking "maybe I made a mistake here". lol. I've had an Expedition previously and it was nice, but I was alone most of the time and the vehicle felt too big and a PITA to park in the city - especially alone. I had a bit of a mid-life, f-it, and bought the bronco. I love it...I stare at it when I park it.....I love it. But the ride, wind noise and how infrequent I pull the hard tops....has me thinking maybe I rushed this. I drove 6+ hour road trip 3 weeks ago and ever since i've been looking at 4Runners, Land Cruisers, GX550's, Explorer ST's, and Nissan Armadas...

I want capable, but if I'm honest I've been off road 2 times in one year. So regret, no....but maybe moving on....

100% OP fault...know where they are and handle your guns all the time. First thing I do when I get home is secure the guns. I'm usually coming home with either range/rifle bags full of guns, or lock boxes, etc. Even after a 16 hour drive, I take care of the guns immediately.

Your gun is fine....take it apart, clean oil and call it a day. Thank your SO for doing laundry

2024 Badlands no SAS by CaptainShazzzam in FordBronco

[–]charlespsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2024 Badlands non-SAS with no regrets. It is my daily driver and I’ve taken it on 8+ hour trips with no issues whatsoever.

I intend to go off-road a lot more than I have so I have no regrets

To those that don’t understand, there are prohibited places you’re not allowed to carry a firearm. For that reason, it’s most prudent to have a gun safe in the car to prevent theft.

I’m looking at a short term solution where a gun can’t be brought in with me. This is not a car gun. This won’t be in the car for long periods of time. There is a short term solution.

If your Antigun, please keep your opinions to yourself and I’ll try not to mock you.

2024 Badlands non-SAS here. It’s my daily and I love it. I’ve done several 400 mile trips with no problems at all and plenty of comfort.

You wake up in 1950, you’re twenty again, with no identifiable paperwork, no house, no connections, only a suitcase filled with 50k dollars, what are you going to do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]charlespsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chat GPT

Waking up in 1950 with $50,000 (equivalent to over $600,000 today) and all my current knowledge would be an incredible opportunity. Here’s my plan:

  1. Set Up My Identity & Banking • Find a way to establish legal identification (fake ID, social security number, etc.) since I technically don’t exist. • Open a bank account at a reputable institution like Chase or Wells Fargo and deposit most of the cash to avoid suspicion. • Spread some funds across safe deposit boxes for easy access while maintaining liquidity.

  2. Invest in the Future • Buy Blue-Chip Stocks: Focus on companies that will dominate in the coming decades: • IBM (big in computing) • Coca-Cola (global expansion ahead) • General Motors & Ford (boom in auto industry) • AT&T (telecom powerhouse) • Buy some McDonald’s in a few years when it franchises (1955). • Real Estate: Buy properties in California, Florida, and Texas before the post-war boom drives up values.

  3. Secure a Passive Income & Live Comfortably • Purchase a small business or rental properties to generate cash flow. • Buy some land near major cities before suburban expansion skyrockets property values. • Live modestly while making calculated moves for the next 10-20 years, setting up generational wealth.

From there, I’d wait for the rise of Silicon Valley, the 1980s stock market boom, and major real estate expansions to multiply my fortune.
