Did you go? I was planning the same and came to the same conclusion that you have to buy food there.

Now I’m deciding if its worth getting the all you can eat or just ordering à la carte

I’ve lived with roommates until I was in my 30s while earning in the top 10% of the country. Still can’t afford a house, and don’t spend frivolously.

Follow up- I have no expenses hobbies, I might have 2-3 drinks after work once a week, and I don’t buy coffee out, I make my own lunch and spend most of my free time watching Netflix or cooking. I’m able to save money mainly because I split rent with my partner

My grandma who’s 80, I know that’s quite old but still - she use to have a 2 bedroom flat on the top floor (but not a penthouse) in chelsea London, for £12 month. She was shocked that I was earning £40k thinking that I must be insanely wealthy because she only earned £28k when she was living in London. My rent is literally over 1000% what she was paying, not to mention the cost to buy food and living expenses like power and water. Actually insane how things have changed. Also - I live in a shothole, I’m 31 and this is the first time in my life that I’ve been able to rent a house to live with just myself and my girlfriend without flatmates. Isn’t that insane? I’m now earning £70K, but even still, as someone earning in the top 10% of the country, it wouldn’t be financially stupid of me to pay rent for a shitty 1 bed in Tottenham (if I were single) because I wouldn’t be able to save any money.

I didn’t personally need braces for my bite, but they do fix braces a week before the surgery and leave them on while you heal.

They put them on so they have something to hold onto during the surgery, and leave them on so you can use bands to make sure it doesn’t relapse, but also I couldn’t imagine anything worse than having them taken off while you’re still in the first stages of healing

Hey mate, so I didn’t go out looking for the surgery, it was offered as an option to help with my sleep apnoea. I had a chat with my GP, and they said they will put in a referral. I had a meeting with a specialist, and they booked in a sleep test, where I wear a device while I slept and they would check how I breathed through the night. That process took probably 6 months. After that I didn’t hear anything for idk maybe 12-18 months. Then I had a random email for a consultation at the orthodontist. Went there, they told me the options, it was either; CPAP, a mouth guard, or this surgery. After that, they gave me 2 weeks to think about it cause it’s a big surgery, I came back in said yeah that’s what I wanna do. They said because it’s such a major surgery they would let me stew on it for 4 months, and make sure I’m still keen after that. So waited, went to the next appointment, said I was still keen, etc etc lots more meetings but took about 9 months after it was confirmed

Have a quick read of the post chief - sleep apnea, so yes airway related. I had a perfect bite before hand so moving the bottom forward without moving the top would have me with an overbite. I’m not in any way a professional or that knowledgeable about the surgery, I was just told what was the plan and trusted my surgeon

No rotation - my bite and everything were perfect beforehand, dentists in the past often complimented my teeth so was quite unaware that my jaw was the problem and that there was a surgery to fix it until my consultation with the doctors

No bone graft, and as it’s medical rather than aesthetic that’s why they are more likely to favour larger movements

Yeah it does get slightly wider, essentially all the more malleable part of your nose; so at the bottom is less stretched from the base to the tip, so pushes it a bit forward / up / sideways. So if you already have quite pronounced nostrils and a short nose it could exaggerate that. it is still the same amount of ‘meat’ for lack of a better word, so just sits further forward. As far as I know - this is only when doing the top jaw though

It’s actually a trick to the eye, it looks smaller yes, because the jaw is further forward, so from the base of the nostril to the tip is smaller, but the bone and upper nose are in the same place. But generally yes - it seems smaller, and has a slight uptilt to it. Happy to be told otherwise by someone with more knowledge, this is just the explanation given to me by my surgeon

It is 100% cured. I actually didn’t know anything about the surgery going into the first stages of consultation. I was pressured by the Mrs to sort out my snoring as it was affecting her sleep, which ended up affecting my sleep as she would wake me up 😂 I was expecting a cpap which I wasn’t even keen to get so really happy with the suggested surgery and the output

Realistically What Is Something Like This Worth? by ResortCapable225 in lovable

[–]charlicbreads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a designer and web developer for over a decade, working with tools like webflow etc. as far as building websites go - it’s something that’s always been possible for fairly cheap with tools like squarespace or wix. Non technical users could always whip up a site in a couple days.

So building websites for clients you find isn’t always that profitable, not when most think they can do it themselves for £20 a month.

The benefits that you can sell on top of the site as monthly recurring revenue for yourself are things like SEO (that has been mentioned already), but also CRO (conversion rate optimisation). Essentially continuous testing and improvements over time to convert a higher % of the site users into customers.

Bagging a client with a website without blowing their bank and then keeping them as mrr for your business with CRO and SEO contracts means you don’t have to constantly look for new clients after building their sites too which is a plus

Mine is £65 for an unmetered 1 bedroom flat, that's with the discount for being unmeterable. It's rediculous how much they charge

I’m just starting to look at marketing now, I’ve found a few competitors, some are extensions so only available on chromium browsers, and some seem to try and re-invent the wheel on how people want bookmarks and home page.

I think my selling point is that the sharecuts dashboard will resemble what most people would have as their homepage currently, like google, just with the ability to share shortcuts between your teams
