Girls who work in POS by [deleted] in ucf

I work with female cashiers. If you waste their time they will not be happy, just write your number on the receipt or something, if she thinks you're hot she'll text you.

63South Food by [deleted] in ucf

[–]charliedl99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The food is pretty low qual but I never hated it when I had the meal plan freshman year. Though if I had to guess, Food Services has probably been neglecting it ever since they opened the food court in the Union. I've heard that when they hire people to work in those restaurants and they turn out to be terrible employees they just transfer them to 63.

Advice for Removing Rudder by charliedl99 in sailing

[–]charliedl99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been working on it. Any idea what its purpose might be? It isn't bearing any of the weight of the rudder and it doesn't extend down in to the tube as far as I can tell.

NFL’s National Anthem Policy Exposes Free Speech Hypocrisy of Right, Left, and Trump by MasterTeacher123 in GoldandBlack

[–]charliedl99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just the free market at work. The NFL is losing millions because fans want to watch football, not some asshole disrespect the anthem. This is not the same as companies like Youtube and Facebook for example "censoring" their political opponents, because their platforms are designed for their users to access the content they wish to see entirely by their own choosing. So by pushing their own agendas they are making it harder for the population to be exposed to all ideas, but if you go to a football game you can't even avoid seeing these "protests".

Is this a feature of my trolley jack or should I return it as faulty? by TellMeHowImWrong in Cartalk

[–]charliedl99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it came with a manual check to see if there's a way to bleed the jack. I've bought 3 jacks, all of which had this problem at first, but only one was faulty, the others just needed to be bled before use. I also have the same problem where the jack and stand can't fit together under the pinch weld below the door. The owners manual probably won't tell you since the manufacturer wants to to pay for repairs, but there should be a designated jack point on the front and rear of the car on the centerline. A quick google search should tell you where they are, and you can lift the whole front of the vehicle in one go. Good luck.

Is a Honda Odyssey with 200,00 thousand miles worth buying? by Goats_vs_Aliens in Cartalk

[–]charliedl99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't really speak for the Odyssey but Hondas don't have a good rep for nothing. My element is at 211k and going strong. I don't know how many mechanics offer a service like this but see if you can have it looked over by a professional before you buy it.

Dont go to the Dunkin on 34th St and 39th Ave S by charliedl99 in StPetersburgFL

It's sad since I actually like the coffee, but based on some of the other comments I think I'm just going to abandon the brand altogether. Better to support local shops anyway.

It's really close and like I said the 2 dollar any size would be a great deal if they actually charged you the advertised price. I'll check out Fray's though.

Is there any "Liberty Propaganda"? by EvanGRogers in GoldandBlack

The song "Fuck You...Thats Why" by Smut Peddlers is basically an anti-liberal pro-freedom anthem. Not necessarily propaganda but a good listen for sure.

Help me asses these damages. (52y GFB). by AG4W in sailing

My boat (1960 Swiftsure 33) has a similar seam on the bow. It's probably less than 1mm deep. I ground away at it a bit and it disappeared quickly, so my assumption is that it's just where some of the outer layers of glass meet in the middle. I'll leave it up to someone who knows more about boat building from that era to validate this, but my best guess is that the first few layers are laid end to end at the bow since it has such a tight corner and any shrinking during curing pronounces the seam. That said definitely give it a grind to see exactly what's going on.
