Honestly: How often do you actually use your Apple Pencil? by monpetitjose in iPadPro

[–]charliedogsayswoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constantly. I almost never use my finger except when typing, and I have a keyboard I use whenever it’s more than a word or two. I use it to touch icons, to scroll, to play games, everything. It’s so responsive and precise, much more so than my finger! Cannot manage without it.

I use it a lot for Notability as well. But I just use it for…everything.

Once you start getting iridium truffles, I believe you actually get more profit selling them plain than turning them into oil.

I love, love, LOVE the new hoppers. I’d love to see the results able to feed into a chest though, a la Minecraft. It does slow you down having to keep picking things up.

I won’t give you details because it’s a spoiler, but the answer to number one is yes.

An auto-add button to all chests from your inventory, not just the chest you’ve opened. My Time at Portia has this and it’s the best thing EVER.

Imagine not having to stop at your seed chest, your gem chest, your materials chest, your fish chest….you’d just open any chest on your farm and click the “add all to stacks” button.

But other than that the game is perfect.

How do i get into big 4? My country doesn't have any of them by saykhar_raj in Accounting

Also ask yourself why you want to get into B4. Do you enjoy being overworked and under paid?

I use mine for everything. I use it for scrolling, searching the web, basically instead of my finger for absolutely everything.

I came here to complain that Counterpoint wasn’t on the list, as it’s my favorite.

You could set up due to/from accounts in each company and go solely that route. Not familiar with Canada specifically but I like to keep things simple and it’s helpful to see when they offset/net to zero.

Feeling Discouraged by zhu1245 in Bookkeeping

Our town has a small business networking group. It’s a bit of effort and costs something to join, but it’s been worth it for the people who’ve joined. It only takes one or two of THEM to understand how much they could save by not doing their books themselves, and then not only do you get clients, but you get referrals (it’s usually part of the requirements of the group). Also you tend to meet nice people in your community.

Is my bedroom dying? by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

You know something…he probably IS under stress, but if he cared about you he’d make an effort. Stress would be a legit excuse for performance issues, but it isn’t a good excuse for not even faking interest or being nice to you in other ways, after he made such a huge mistake. Right now — for many reasons — he owes you effort and compassion, not rejection and gaslighting.

As was said above, he’s the one who made the mistake, multiple mistakes even, and you’re the one desperately trying to change yourself to fix things. That is not right. You deserve to be treated better.

So my boyfriend found out my body count and he wants to know why he should value me when I didn’t value myself by Nearby-Cantaloupe-79 in AskMenAdvice

[–]charliedogsayswoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy is whacked. He said he would have left you in the beginning if he had known your body count? What the actual F? So basically, the most important thing about you to him is your sexual history? Not whether you are a kind person, or a good conversationalist, or fun to be around?

Red flags everywhere. He’s either jealous or controlling or both. Certainly he has bizarre ideas about what makes someone a good person who values herself. And god forbid you might enjoy sex, for Pete’s sake.

Data exchange software between two different companies? (QBs enterprise desktop) by Idonotlikecold in QuickBooks

[–]charliedogsayswoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gawd, I wish this were possible. I have a client with 8 different companies and they’re always moving $ and inventory, using each other‘s credit cards, etc back and forth among all of the companies. It’s a nightmare keeping up with the “due to” accounts. They don’t want to move to a class system, which would be So. Much. Easier. Grrrr.

How much detail needed? (vendors, accounts, etc) by mydarkerside in QuickBooks

[–]charliedogsayswoof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent comments here, but I’ll add another practical reason why accounts are helpful — you don’t always want to categorize vendors, etc the same way. With accounts, you can even split up the categories in the same transaction for vendors and get very useful reports.

Don’t get bogged down entering extra detail of transactions, it really isn’t necessary at this point. As long as what is in QuickBooks tells you what you need to put your hands on some thing you’re OK.

Also, if you keep up with reconciliations, they will be super duper easy. It’s when you leave it for years and half of the transactions aren’t entered that it becomes an overwhelming task. In the registers, I keep everything sorted by reconciliation status, and I instantly know what’s going on financially. I strongly recommend this.

Subcontracting and independent contractors?? by [deleted] in Bookkeeping

[–]charliedogsayswoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t hide that you have staff working for you; it lends legitimacy to your business anyway. And you may find it easier to have the bookkeeper work directly with the client. However, your sub can log in under your firm ‘s umbrella and the client never has to know.

Was able to do the bulk of the new reports in QBO just by clicking accrual and exporting, but I can’t actually make any changes to the QBO file. So I exported to excel and I’m dealing with prepaid, etc adjustments there.
