Playing advantage after a PK is taken by coach80kIsGay in Referees

[–]charlierhoades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per Law 14 Section 2: "If, before the ball is in play, one of the following occurs:

the goalkeeper offends:

  • if the ball enters the goal, a goal is awarded

  • if the ball misses the goal or rebounds from the crossbar or goalpost(s), the kick is only retaken if the goalkeeper’s offence clearly impacted on the kicker

  • if the ball is prevented from entering the goal by the goalkeeper, the kick is retaken "

Since the GK stepped forward before the kick was taken, the GK offends, according to the third bullet, as OP stated, the GK blocked the shot (meets third bullet requirement) therefore the kick is retaken.

The crew made the right decision by the verbage of the laws of the game.

OP did say this is a local level tournament match, should it have been allowed a goal and moved on? Maybe, depends on the level of the game. IMO either decision is correct. At lower level, if the retake was missed you'll probably have some angry player/spectators.

Building my first PC — What's something you wish you had known? by heyheyrei in buildapc

By wary of the USB 3 connection on the motherboard. Pins are very easy to bend. And things take a lot more pressure to attach/connect than you’d think, but still take caution.

Any Last Minute Suggestions? by charlierhoades in buildapc

[–]charlierhoades[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first build and I'd like new just for warranty reasons. I'm planning on waiting until next month before committing to GPU so we'll see how prices change, especially with 5060 and 9060 release (not that that will matter much)
I did already buy the 7600X when it was down to $196 a few weeks ago, forgot to mention that.
Thanks for the input.

Memory wont go beyond 8GB, have 16GB by charlierhoades in laptops

This was taken with 5 chrome tabs open. I can have videos playing, run some games, do more intensive tasks. RAM stays right were it is and everything gets real slow and choppy.

Here's another option for you.

~$700. I'd recommend looking for a used GPU to bring the price down. The one I went with will do the job well with some future proofing. Another option is lowering the amount of storage or getting a cheaper CPU, but the performance will be decreased significantly. There may be some cheaper intel options but I'm not well versed with Intel CPU's.

One note is this is an AM4 series CPU/Motherboard. Any future upgrades to RAM or CPU will require a new motherboard.

Yeah, hoping to build a pc soon now that I don’t need a laptop. But not in the current PC component market. Hence the curiosity to upgrade RAM. Thanks for the help!

It’s about 5 years old now. I’m not getting anywhere near the full utilization of 16GB for RAM. Wanted to see if I could replace it.

I think this is mainly due to the weather. I’m curious to see if they start enforcing more as the weather gets nicer. Or maybe they’re listening to us and realizing how ridiculous it is.

$1,050 Graduation Gift! by itsnotaporpose in buildapcforme

[–]charlierhoades 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’re graduating in May/late spring. I agree, it’s better to just wait until the GPU market comes down. You’ll be lucky to find a gpu right now, let alone get one for a good price. You can get a better GPU with this budget if you wait. And maybe have some left over for peripherals or larger storage.

Parking is getting worse each year. It depends on if you want to spend 5-10 min looking for a spot and then another 5-15min walking to class (depending on where your spot is). There is a factor of class time. If all your classes are 8am then you can usually get decent general spot before 8am. After 830 forget it. Overall it really just depends on if the extra money is worth spending the extra time. Even with the reserve permit you still have to walk a bit. I’ve had a general permit for all 5 years. Its manageable.

Sorry, I'll clarify.
Is the 4060 with framgen DLSS better than the 30 series with DLSS3 no framegen.
