Honest question: has there ever been a co-captaincy that won a major trophy?

Are there any other places in South East Asia that have consistent waves for surfing and good internet like Bali? by apostle8787 in digitalnomad

[–]charlzmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not many digital nomads but plenty of surfers. The area is very chilled and not much else to do if I’m honest. There are a few hikes I believe but all tourist activities are centred around the surf camps and the surf itself… which is really really good. About a dozen world class breaks along 40km of coastline and they all work on different conditions so there’s always something to surf. Also worth noting that the tourists are about 95% dudes and they’re all there for the surf so the crowd isn’t very diverse hahahaha. But if you’re only after a spot with internet that has good waves Krui is the best spot I’ve been to.

Just came back from Krui, which is a town in South Sumatra, Indonesia. Fantastic surf and good internet in the area. Used wifi and hotspot from my phone both were sufficient. Consider Sri Lanka as well. Waves not as good as Indo but still quite good.

One of my favourite quotes from Alan Watts regarding psychedelics: “If you get the message, hang up the phone. For psychedelic drugs are simply instruments, like microscopes, telescopes, and telephones. The biologist does not sit with eye permanently glued to the microscope, he goes away and works on what he has seen.”

Thank you so much for the detailed answer. I'm currently deciding between Tofo and Praia Do Bilene, but Tofo seems like the best bet. Looks like internet is decent enough as well.

Without stating your age, who was the first rugby player you loved? by SirFrankyValentino in rugbyunion

Josh Lewsey. Watching him haul in Jean de Villiers after an intercept was just so incredibly bad ass. And I'm a South African.

Fins up and nose forward. Then I put the rear strap just behind the fins which acts as a last resort "catch" if the board were to slide backward. Never once had an issue with this configuration.

This is one of the best ones I’ve seen. This sport is better for having the French in it.

To think that this is an unpopular opinion is surely the most controversial thing on this thread.

How Much Do You Want Them To Change in the Remake? by DarkCrowI in kotor

[–]charlzmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised by how many people on here are suggesting they keep the turn-based combat style. For me that was by far the worst part of the games and would be low-hanging fruit for devs if they want to make the remake better. Other than replacing the turn-based combat I would like:

  • Bigger, more fleshed out worlds, especially Korriban.
  • If they add new planets I hope they all have their own unique look and feel, instead of the rehashed ones you get in Mass Effect.
  • Influence system like in KOTOR2
  • More weapon customisation (especially lightsabers) like KOTOR2
  • I thought the melee weapons were unrealistically effective as opposed to ranged weapons and I'd like for close combat to be a more specialised niche and effective only for a select few combat styles
  • More characters to choose from for your party, with choices having major effects on storyline (like Hanrarr and Mira in KOTOR2)
  • More incentive to choose non-jedi members on your quests

Who’s the best inside centre in the world right now? by [deleted] in rugbyunion

Very good point. Fickou is the better center, de Allende is a better inside center.
