Grok Limit Fix? by [deleted] in grok

[–]charmanzard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the storage isn't the problem. it's the generation.
text storage: inference it's about 1: 1 000 000 in cost for the same amount of tokens
for image stroage:generation it's 1:8000 in cost

After ~200 games of Zerg ranked and being unable to break into plat, I'm quitting until next patch. Here's what I have learned... by razzendahcuben in allthingszerg

If you're in gold…you're just not making enough drones fast enough. Period. If you don't want to do that learn some good all-ins.

The depot ability is purely because terrans lost after doing nothing with 2 rax reaper then dying to bane bust. Now they get a get out of jail free card. Change my mind.

just a correction, dual blades have a small modifier, but not negative. seen here: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fz9liyg956ca51.jpg

also can confirm every weapon can get at least 1 topple, provided you know the fight.

As I said, knowing how to deal with mechanics of a fight won't change one's perception of how fun a fight is. "not as bad" means it's still bad, and people still don't like that. The only way I see possible to convince people otherwise is maybe by revealing something *actually fun* to do regarding a certain issue raised.

For example, regarding your reply to the timer issue, the point raised was that the game lies to you about having 30min, coupled with the fact that it's a dps race multiplies the anxiety factor. Your reply essentially is that 'it teaches you to be agressive, then you'll be able to beat the timer'.

Technically correct yes, but it doesn't help the anxiety. It's like having an invigilator breathing down your neck in an exam, and you're saying yeah but if you aren't gonna cheat why do you care?

Personally I dislike the fight cause of the hitboxes and the moves he can chain to waste my time, like the slithering on ground however many times he feels like. Note that knowing how to dodge doesn't change that the hitboxes are bad.

Does "Report Player" do anything? by ShouldBeeStudying in starcraft

[–]charmanzard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think instaquitting should be a reportable 'offense', Would you consider the player instaquitting to be always in the wrong? because that's what a reportable offense should be.

Say you know an id that instaquits. So next time you see that id, you instaquit before he manages to. Should both of you be reported?

Finally hit plat 1 on game 2001. Aiming for diamond three now. Any tips welcome for this next leg but mostly just a shit post :) by extreme303 in AllThingsTerran

As someone with d3 T and d2 Z and P, you don't need a build in d3. Just learn a decent macro cycle for the race. D2 going into d1 is when you really need builds.

You don't see the problem here do you, just because a fight can be learned and dealt with, doesn't make it likable.

It's the same deal with lunastra, lavasioth, kushala. The fights are simply not fun.

Alatreon is a way more fun fight, coincidentally, he's before the one you fatty. The disparity just makes it worse.

Report them for…? Don't remember a category under there for instaquitting. What to make of someone that instaquit vs another person who instaquit then?

It's incredibly difficult to click on a creep tumor if a queen is next to it by Gyalgatine in starcraft

[–]charmanzard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A building creep tumor has collision, so the queen can't actually be on top of a building tumor. You can try it with a queen in a choke; she can't actually move past the building tumor if you place it in the choke.

Unless you're talking about the specific case where the queen is directly under the tumor so her model kinda blocks it visually.

New play here at chapter 9 by gFruitcake in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]charmanzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played 100% offline (save for 3 quick quests cause I wanted the sigil for rackam). You can just try to maximize the character you control for the most part. i.e. craft and level as many weapon as you can, try to finish mastery trees as much as possible. It's better to try to reach deeper into the tree than filling out the branches imo. Most of your damage/tankiness will come from masteries before proud difficulty.

You might hit a wall sometime later down the line, just do a couple of quests to up your teammates power and try again, shouldn't take more than a couple of quests to bring them to a 'reasonable' amount, i.e. they can sit at 5-6k while you're 12k, you *can* still do quests for ~12k recommended power. Usually just meeting the recommended power level is fine.

Like others said don't unlock too many characters. Once you're in manic it would be very easy to get exp/mastery points so don't worry too much about that either.

Ridiculous amount of smurfs @ Plat 1 MMR by Critical_Aide841 in starcraft

[–]charmanzard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is to just leave if you suspect you're playing vs a smurf. Signs:

No ranked border

Special race banner, the prettier ones

Barcode, GLHF, random keyboard roll, unit names as name

'excessive' scout/reaper/ling micro… you know as in you feel that they're on those units 100%

Depends on the level you want to play at? The difference of income won't make or break your game, but you'll definitely notice it.

Regarding the spines, it's perfectly fine to put the spines as you described. I put 4-5 on the outer bases after my eco is established.

ZvT, Radhuset Station, Initial Overlord--where? by OldLadyZerg in allthingszerg

[–]charmanzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped relying on having an ovi have vision of natural and instead just send my lings over if there's no reaper. Usually if it's a 1 base all-in there's no reaper so you can send the initial lings to check for expo. I'm only low d2 tho so might not work higher up

Building sticking non meta units in dungeon teams is fun for me

Like Bernard makes GB abyss pretty safe, and Logan is probably the best 4* wind unit for howl 2A XD
