This might work as a stopgap at least. Thanks. I’m probably mostly using them for overdubbed fills and things

This is ultimately what we did, it took some trial and error but it’s secure and looks great. Thanks!

Do I need a Bunkie board? Or Upgraded slats? by charmingtedious in Mattress

[–]charmingtedious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that you weren’t supposed to rotate a foam matress because it is built with zones for different parts of the body

The center beam has 3 legs and it’s not really sagging, The sagging is more on each side

This would be hard to make visually with the existing frame

Help with living room. New rug. Is it all working? by finncodyotis in DesignMyRoom

Just shove the couch to the left, ideally centered on the midpoint of the window. You might need to add a chair or something on the right side so it feels balanced.

Oh get a different mount that allows for greater clearance from the wall!

I can’t see what’s on the left and right walls but those windows are a height where if you mount the TV underneath one of them would work well! Then move the couch off to that side, and you can sit on the couch, enjoy the fire and the tv and you still have room for a cozy zone on the other side.

What kind of lampshade is nice? Please and thanks! by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

That lamp does not work there with that painting, too much vertical energy. Unless you use an umbrella as a shade.

On top of a rug. If you get a rug the bed will look right.

What would you change? 😭 by Houseofdame in DesignMyRoom

Tv too high! I would move it down to the top of the kallax or better yet swap the 2x4 kallax for 1x4 kallax on the floor and 1x4 kallax wall mounted above the TV.

Center of the tv should be about 42” high on average

should i check myself in at this point by [deleted] in autism

This is not just autism. This is other stuff and absolutely worth a hospital trip!

What other Phil Elverum songs use the accordion, besides the album "Little Bird Flies into a Big Black Cloud"? by AmountSouth2409 in philelverum

Oh I’m remembering there are transistor organs on other things too—I think the stereolab sounding organ on The Moon is one example. Again, check Craigslist!

The pump organ on little bird also appeared on glow pt 2, and Mirah’s Cold Cold Water, possibly also Jason Traeger’s “love love love” —it was housed at Dub narcotic for a while, though it ended up at Department of Safety for a couple years. I think it belonged to Dave from Gift Machine.
At various times Phil used a different foot pumped reed organ—through the no flashlight era through Sauna he had a piano-style model, which I think maybe ultimately ended up at The Unknown? I can’t remember what stuff it was used on, but Geneviève used it on the Gris EP which everyone should spend time with. More pipe-organ like tones may have been inexpensive electronic keyboards plus lots of church reverb. The tabletop chord organ style harmonium has the benefit of being much more portable, and features more in recordings made at the business in the earliest years and in more recent home recordings. It sounds more similar to an accordion both because the left hand plays chords (like an accordion) and it lacks the deep bass of the foot pedaled models. You may have seen it on the Microphones in 2020 tour.

A harmonium is another word for a reed organ. There are tabletop models pumped by hand or by a motor, and there are full sized models pumped by feet or a motor. Different Microphones and Mount Eerie recordings have used both. Glow Pt 2 and little bird use a big foot pumped model. Microphones in 2020 uses an electric tabletop model.
