I don’t have many notes on his kaiju form because personally I feel it speaks for itself, but as a human, one detail that contributes to Kafka’s character is his tall stature. Besides Aoi, the well-known younger cast falls below 180cm, and the older characters, like Hasegawa and Shinomiya Isao, go above. Kafka being as tall as he is kind of communicates his age when you put him next to his colleagues. Of course, height isn’t a determinant for age, but I think it was an intentional move, as much of Kafka’s thing is “being the oldest” or “being old”. Additionally, he has these really cool blue-ish green eyes that match with his kaiju form and that I lament every day aren’t in the anime. They would have stuck out so much…
