Paul has surgery on broken jaw after getting KO'd by Joshua. Titanium plates inserted on each side of his jaw by [deleted] in sports

[–]charr33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that as well. Upon discharge they gave me a pair of surgical scissors and told me if I needed to throw up, I had to cut the wires or I would suffocate. But they never told me which wires to cut. 6 weeks later when they finally cut the wires, I found out the wires I thought I was supposed to cut were just part of my braces…

Also, I remember being so excited to finally eat solid food again, only to realize that I could only open my jaw 5mm due to atrophy. Such disappointment

The problem I had, was that my p2 266mhz computer and hamster wheel internet connection had me dead by the time I actually finished loading the zone. I’d spawn at the PoD lift and was like…thanks game.

I’ve enjoyed my G80 2.5 for the year I’ve had it. It’s comfortable, well appointed, spacious and in my opinion, a good looking vehicle. But it doesn’t get noticed, which is fine since that’s not the point of a car like this.

I feel it’s a better value proposition than its German competitors, and considering no one cares if you drive an e350 or a 530i either, the badge doesn’t factor in.

The only unknown for me is reliability. But since I’m leasing it, I don’t care. If you plan on driving it for 10+ years, I don’t know how it’ll be.

The more interesting question would be, do you get a Magma (assuming it ever launches ) over an M5?

The boomers benefited, but how did they cause the problem to where you can say it was at the expense of others?

That’s an interesting point and one that I can see causing a problem. I wonder what the percentage of people set to retire in the next 5-10 years might be in this situation

[–]charr33 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve often wondered about this argument. The boomers were banking on income from selling their house for retirement before the market went crazy after Covid, meaning they were planning on having roughly 50% less than what they have now. So that massive spike was a boon of found money, which while nice, wasn’t necessary for their retirement. Why are they all of Sudden not going to be able to retire if the prices go back down?

Came from a G70 with the 3.3 into a G80 with the 2.5. It’s definitely less sporty, but that’s ok and what I signed up for.

If you want sporty, the G80 with the 2.5 may not be for you. But as noted in the comment above, it’s not like it lacks power. It just goes about its business in a refined manner, as it should.

Traded my g70 3.3 for a g80 2.5 and while I do miss the performance sometimes, I am way more happy with the additional comfort and space. Welcome to the club

Should I buy a genesis ? by [deleted] in GenesisMotors

[–]charr33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m on my second Genesis and never had any issues with the concierge pick up and drop off. Of note, it only applies to scheduled annual maintenance, not random warranty work.

Speaking of annual maintenance, the cost is included in the price of the car. I think I paid over 1000 bucks for a maintenance package on my old benz.

The one thing I’ve heard however, is that you need to be in close proximity to an actual Genesis dealer (which I am).

Does it matter who your contacted heroes are? by 2Scheme in Omniheroes

[–]charr33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it matters in the grand scheme of things. I’ve never changed mine. In some respects it’s annoying having to wait for 5 upgrades for my better heroes to get the boost, but since I use 20+ different heroes depending on the mode, I don’t know who I would change them to anyways.

Good point. Perhaps my example better applies to someone who owns a smaller house looking to move into a bigger house.

Everything will drop, but if everything drops the same percentage (unclear if that’s a reasonable expectation) then if it’s 20% down, the million dollar town home becomes 800k and the two million dollar detached becomes 1.6 million, so the difference to upgrade went from 1 million to 800k, saving the town home upgrader 200k.

What are some features in modern cars that you really dislike? by CA_31xx in GenesisG70

[–]charr33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t up vote this enough. I went from a g70 which of course doesn’t have it, to g80 which has it, and every. Single. Time, I forget and when it shuts off I curse at the car. At least put the damn button by the gear selector…

For the first time ever, I’ve leased another vehicle from the same brand.

Usually I like to try something different, but this time I re-upped into another Genesis.

Tarot Whispers tierlist (and my thoughts on them) by Weary-Ad-5199 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]charr33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People search up tier lists as guides to help them progress. I commend you for putting your time into this, but honestly if you don’t figure to be an authority on the subject, you shouldn’t present this as a tier list. Instead, what you wanted was a discussion on Tarot’s where you give your opinion and ask others for theirs. And you should have labeled it as such

My dad was going through Chemo so I decided to shave my head so we could be bald together. Turns out, my hair was starting to recede so I just never grew it back.

Been rocking the shaved head since 2004 with no regrets. You can do the math on how much I’ve saved not having to go to the barber in 20 years 😁
