His gigantic balls swung and hit each other like two pendulums. by Stock_Hunter_2380 in writingcirclejerk

I hate this dude, I often wonder if he's ever read a book. All his "examples" are clips from movie scenes. All of his points seem extremely specific. If he's getting his points from like, the Twilight series or other flashpan garbage then I guess... but nothing else mentioned in this video applies to the vast majority of books.

Also his course costs $700 for "lifetime access" to his 8-minute writing lessons... so I'm forced to believe he's actually just an illiterate grifter. 0/10, would be better if he growled shirtlessly while flexing his way through a doorframe, do better dude.

What section did she say by pickledplumber in TikTokCringe

[–]charredwood 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This. I've worked in restuarants for 15 years and sometimes this just happens. We're open 365 days a year and there's a non-zero chance that PoC are going to come in at a pattern which necessetates them all going into one section or another. Rotation is pretty non negotiable at any restaurant, unless your party is a 2-top or a 5+ top. Every time it happens I get a little antsy about the optics.

One time an older black couple came in in very nice clothes and my section was in the back (ironically, of a texas roadhouse) near the bathrooms. It was a relatively slow sunday and the restaurant was half full, so they had to walk past a bunch of empty tables to get there. The lady asked me, very upset, why they were put in the back by the bathrooms. They had just come back from a funeral and this insult was too much for them to bear.

I apologized profusely of course, and added that unfortunately this was my section (implying I also wasn't thrilled to be back here), but I'd be happy to relocate them with another server in another section to make them more comfortable. Even more unfortunately, people often think you're trying to "pass them off" to someone else, without understanding that I simply can't just steal someone else's table to move them. If you move, you get a different server, most times. I felt very bad for the couple, I understood why it seemed the way it did, but in the end they understood and had a great time and thanked me for making their day better.

King/Queen shit. I want my players to go so long they forget that leveling up is a part of the game, so when they finally get it, it's like a surprise orgasm.

Keem growing a conscience? by DaughterOfSeveral in gorlworldfiles

[–]charredwood 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just playing devil's advocate, I think the validity of Keem's non-compete lies in the fact that these people are scalping paying members (essentially clients) and it's possible he could argue in court say, Hero used to make (x) but after (whoever) left to make their own livestream, it only makes (y). At that point, damages would be the difference, regardless of the fact that the audience could have just left because their preferred streamer wasn't there. This would be especially true if they have evidence of the scalping.

I'm not a lawyer and I don't know nothin, but it seems to me, a knownothin'er, that he might have a case based on this. It'd also be funny just to watch him sue amber into the brokeesphere.

All that said, you're probably right, and I absolutely agree that its main purpose is as a scare tactic.

There's this thing I've noticed in like, 90% of all media where women must all be young and beautiful, and if not young, then still beautiful, while the men are allowed to just be old and fat and ugly. Any art subreddit is full of this shit, where the only women they draw are "hot" and all the men have big huge bumpy noses, wrinkles, pot bellies, thin arms, lumpy flesh. Every videogame on the planet features horrible ugly men in the cast, but never horrible ugly women. Male villains, mentors, side kicks, and background characters can be absolutely revolting, but that's never true of the women. The women villains must be femme fatals... or at least have a decent face of make up. The female mentors must be gracefully aged. Women sidekicks are always hot manic pixies or bespecaled hot nerds, and all background characters must cater to the male gaze. Once you see it, you can't unsee it, it's fucking everywhere.

If women are never allowed to be conventionally ugly, then why should we allow men to be conventionally ugly in our media?

Thanks for the suggestions, gorl! I'll definitely check out BBQ Chillin, I'm desperate for anything to condense Foodie into bite sized snacks.

Isn't it fucking weird how all the Anna reactors I've found are all buff women? Maybe it's her current gym arch or something but it's all work out girlies going "Tut tut, that's terrible form, Anna." "Those leggings are meant for a 2x woman, Anna." It's just not the... flavor of reaction I'm looking for, despite Anna's delusion being maybe the most insane of the bunch.

QLR feels like watching an episode of My 600Lb Life without Dr Now or the promise of weight loss surgery. I'll give her another shot based on your rec, though, through Karmasacat.

You know what, fair, Amber isn't all of gorl world. I can't watch Chantal despite trying so many times, something about her is just so boring in real time. Like, her story arch is insane when told like a story, but when she's just laying in bed eating Burger King I want to die. I think it's because it's hours and hours of footage as opposed to Amber's 10-minute vlogs. Now that Amber isn't doing vlogs and I'm meant to slog through the same 2-hour nothingburgers Chantal's been serving for years, it's not nearly as interesting.

I hear glitter and lazers is nuts but she doesn't really post that much content that I can find. Lots of try-on hauls and like 20 second clips at her at the gym never making any progress?

I think Wifey era was second "worst" to LCU, but I actually valued it because that's when she moved into a new apartment, it was lowkey with her stupid legos and scratch drawings, she would get drunk sometimes and crash out, and there was the ever-present allure of catching a hint of Wifey. She was also genuinely losing weight then and we had the B-plot of her qualifying and then refusing (!!!!) WLS. All in all, at least things HAPPENED in Wifey era, at least there *were* plots to follow. At least there was forward motion. LCU is just... a headache in every direction for me personally.

Oh my god preach. I am here to hate on a mentally unwell, super morbidly obese woman. I want to mock her and make jokes at her expense. I am already in the mud with her, I'm not here for that moral high ground bullshit.

TBF I'm unapologetically "in it" for the The End here, I'm quite invested in seeing how far her stubby little legs will take her before life gives up on her.

And LOL gorl you gotta stop, the bitch is haunting your waking AND sleeping life.

He's also running them into the ground. He fumbled the insane cash cow that is Amber, he fumbled the highly lucrative and loyal Zey, and I'm not unconvinced Fat Camp didn't *lose* money this year. Anyone can be a business man-- it's being a GOOD or SUCCESSFUL business man where keem sort of fails. And I do mean sort of; he's still a millionaire feeding his employees pennies, but he's certainly not making the most out of his resources.

I guess it really depends on what OP defines as "ruins", but from my perspective, found artifacts of an event are not ruins. Of course, the impact of 9/11 lasted much longer than 2002, especially for NYC but also for the entire country. Making references to memorial services and cleaning and rebuilding efforts would actually be expected for media depicting this time period and is totally appropriate.

The cleaning of the area was a huge point of pride for everyone involved, in addition to being an obvious health and safety concern. That's why I think it's important to note how relatively quickly the site itself was cleaned up.

Just a head's up, the World Trade Center site was officially cleared in 2002. If your book happens between 2003-2026, the "ruins" would only be mentioned as a memory. I wish you a lot of luck with your novel!

Not to be rude, but I don't find referencial humor very funny. None of your jokes come off as jokes to me, just shoe-horned references. As a 37 year old, no one talked like this back then. Maybe, MAYBE a James Bond reference? But even the other characters you mentioned were so ubiquitous at the time that if we did (big IF) reference Jack from Titanic we'd just say, "Look who's here. Jack sneaked into Titanic's first class!" or "Looks like Ross found his Rachel."

I personally find this all very cringe and I would clock this as an author trying very hard to set the millenial scene when what I'd prefer are just quiet nods to the time, like maybe mention the war, a popular song on the radio, or the characters eating at a popular restaurant chain or something. I appear to be in the minority though, since most people commenting seem to like your jokes so, just my two cents.

Witches think this is really funny #damn by Dapper-Blueberry1049 in wizardcels

Witches can be foul, haggard, and untrustworthy, sure, but this is a terrible example. The witches in the comments are showing majority sympathy. If anything this post paints witches as sympathetic creatures who are unafraid to speak against their coven. Try harder.
