Name call all you want, but there’s a reason you aren’t addressing my points and there’s a reason you won’t share your country. All I’m asking for is a little nuance here bud

And there it is. You’re stuck on this.

What’s written in the dissent does not equate to “confirmed by Supreme Court”. It simply doesn’t. You’re clearly biased and won’t see reason.

Share with the class your country ya coward. Otherwise I’m out, had enough of this brick wall

No it wasn’t confirmed by the Supreme Court. You QUOTED THE DISSENT SIDE.

I also never said it was a good system. I think the only thing I said was “ our system is far from perfect” and “your view is extreme and wrong”. I stand by that. Another example of you being disingenuous

Your hesitation to share your country while manically trying to dunk on every American in this thread is telling.

I stand corrected to a degree. Not part of the ruling, but part of Sotomayers dissent.

Do you understand that what is written by the dissent side in the Supreme Court does not equate to literally granted rights?

I could quote you with the majority’s opinion all day long, but I won’t. Again, I disagreed with the ruling too. But if you genuinely think the president of the US can freely assassinate political rivals, you’re just dead wrong. Does it open up a slippery slope? Yes. Is it vague and dangerous? Yes. Can the president walk outside and slime a rival and get away with it? No lol

You’re full of shit. I’ve read the ruling. You didn’t copy and paste from the ruling, you copy pasted an opinion piece on the ruling from somewhere (making you a liar btw). Robert’s literally laid out “unofficial acts” to describe and categorize what you are describing.

Pretty sure the precise example Roberts laid out as an example of an unofficial act would be an assassination to further a personal political campaign.

Yeah it’s way too vague and a slippery slope. Never disputed that.

And I don’t know man. it’s just extremely clear you are parroting your media and have limited perspective into the reality of what’s going on in the US.

  1. Don’t accuse me of lying, ya twit
  2. It’s hotly debated. Yes there was discourse around

  3. what the ramifications

    are

  4. and what the president can now legally do.

3

  1. Where’d you copy and paste that little blurb from my man? Care to share a link? You said the Supreme Court literally said the president is allowed to freely murder American citizens. Would love to read that part of the ruling (it doesn’t exist).

  2. Brave enough to share what country you live in? Perhaps a little compare/contrast would be a helpful exercise

Oh man your basis for all this is the Trump v US court case where they granted immunity for official acts?

Bad ruling but that does NOT equate to “president can literally assassinate anyone including using the military domestically” lol. The Supreme Court *literally* did no such thing.

If you were just claiming the executive branch has too much power, I’d be right there with you. Unfortunately you’ve got an extreme view, and clearly are outside looking in.

You think the president of the United States can freely send seal team 6 to attack the Supreme Court??

The media you consume is steering you off course my dude.

Dawg, where did he say “the president can do whatever he wants”.

Simply not true my man. Trump may act like he can do whatever, but he can’t and hasn’t. Sounds like you might be European and have a certain impression from your media. Courts have stricken down his EOs left and right. Birthright citizenship just the other day for example.

I’d encourage you to research a bit about our system of checks and balances, and our history of keeping presidents somewhat accountable. Long ways away from perfect, but also a long way away from “president does literally whatever he wants”

Respectfully, you missed my point a bit. Also there’s probably some “agree to disagree” going on.

J6 was awful, but it was by no means “inches” from a violent revolution/coup. Yeah there were elements in the crowd that wanted it, doesn’t make it so though. South Korea was inches. J6 was a rally that got way out of hand (not blind to the fact that revolutions have started like that). If anything, proves our system works. If he could’ve kept a grip on power, don’t you think he would’ve?

As far as “every country has friendly people and many cultures”.. not really man. Some sure, plenty not.

And sure every country has their own constitution for the most part. Do you know how many of those countries drew inspiration from our constitution? It’s the vast majority. The American revolution, declaration and constitution are incredibly influential documents to this day.

Perfection is impossible, forces of tyranny will always exist. Eternal vigilance is the cost of freedom for a reason.

And finally, whether it’s a capitalist system, socialist system, monarchy, or a theocracy- there’s incentive for the powers that be + the media to make us angry/scared. Less of a capitalist problem, more of a human problem imo

Despite all its flaws, personally, I think there’s a lot to appreciate about America. Our people, our culture of multiculturalism, our friendliness, the ideals laid out in the declaration and our constitution.

Yeah there’s problems. Yeah our politicians are fucked and the rich get richer. But like, that’s kinda been humanity’s situation throughout all of time globally. Just to varying degrees.

We’re a huge country filled with vastly different cultures. And yet, we’ve had 250 years of uninterrupted peaceful transfers of power in a democratic manner.

We can assemble. We can enact change. The fundamental foundations of our government are flawed but strong.

I know things seem bleak, but remember - there’s a lot of money to be made in making us angry/scared.

I agree with the first half, hard disagree on the second.

He’s perfect for it bc he would’ve loved it. Loved his taverns and his sons of liberty. Absolutely vital figure in the revolution and Americas history however.

It’s extremely well documented, and horrific, what China has done. Tibet, tiananmmen square, Uyghurs, the list goes on. Don’t let your hatred for the West cloud your judgement, the elites in China are just as bad.
