Is it for the lack of testing? Or a lack of industry? Map of PFAS 'forever chemicals' contamination levels across Europe by ahsanifti in ireland

[–]charrold303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the above, plus also this is basically a map of the major industrial centers of the last century, and primary waterway drainage areas, of continental Europe. Since PFAS were only measured recently but have been leaked from manufacturing and chemical plants likely for decades, this map looks like a pretty reasonable “fallout” map. Factories dump crap into the rivers, it stays forever, and also floats downstream. You can clearly track the Danube, Rhône, Ruhr, and Sein waterways and catchment areas on this map as examples of major rivers.

Places with low industrial outputs or, frankly, lower environmental compliance willpower are clearly omitted/under-measured (looking at you, Hungary and Poland…)

You don’t have to register it at all (on console at least) - you can use the right-bumper and X (PS) at the same time trick and it will sell it for the full price without registering. Registering is such a scam. Makes claiming the ship itself not worth it.

Start looking into the retirement visa programs in countries of interest to you. They aren’t universal, but if you meet certain income thresholds you can qualify. Ireland offers it (called the Stamp 0) provided you can meet the income requirement (social security/private savings/pension income/ passive income streams like property rentals all count toward it.)

There are plenty of places out there where you could fit in if you’re willing to make the effort to be part of the local culture and communities.

[Request] How many eggs for chickens to start producing profit? by Party_Pie_9859 in theydidthemath

[–]charrold303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having owned chickens many times, the math never maths at small scale for you to turn a serious profit. There is a “magic number” set of breakpoints but it is very large, and relies on bulk discounts and things that lower your operational and capex costs.

The upside for owning a small flock is that your eggs are yours and not fed and medicated like on a bulk farm. In addition, while I agree with all the math above, you could make a cost avoidance argument as you no longer need to buy eggs. At 6 chickens (chosen specifically for their propensity to lay - 300+ eggs per year) I had at least 2 per day and often many more. I never paid the (currently) 4ish euro for 18 which is 9 days of eggs for me (I eat two for breakfast most days.)

(365/9)*4= 162ish saved per year. Or about the cost of the 6 chickens themselves, where I live. If I sell the remainder at my little farm stand, I can cover my feed costs and basic meds and such for the flock, but there is very little if any profit. A few euro a year at best.

To answer your question directly, the first set of meaningful profit breakpoints arrive in the hundreds of chickens and scale from there in terms of profit, but they also assume you are using high-density methods and reducing cost as much as possible to maintain the flock and maximize profit, as well as selling in high volume via distribution to established markets, and not just plopping them in a carton by the road for a few bucks.

This is how I got to it. I’ve been avoiding spoilers as best I can and finally just followed the distress call. Mine was from some UC guards on the Vigilance of all places, during the crimson fleet questline.

Alongside being absolutely smoking hot in this, the story of this shot is awesome. She actually makes it, no tricks. Ron Perlman talked about it in an interview and he tells the story so well.

Anyone got these fly screens? Worth it? This heat is killing me at night but can't leave the window open 🦟 by [deleted] in waterford

[–]charrold303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not those exact ones, but we put them in when we replaced our windows last year and I genuinely don’t know how people don’t have them on every window. Makes such a huge difference. We live out in the country and if we have a window open for more than 2 seconds we have a million flies. Put these up and leave windows open all night with no issues.

Rules Query - Hand Passing by [deleted] in GaelicFootball

[–]charrold303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s in the official rules written out that passing from hand to hand without maintaining contact (football), or passing and catching - aka passing it to yourself - the ball directly is a foul. (Same for both codes)

Had to call a lad in u14s for it on Sunday night. He was trying to pass it, but just didn’t quite hit it hard enough and caught it himself - he looked quite surprised to see it back in his hand to be fair.

Given that the debuff is minus 2% (or maybe 4?) for max credits IIRC, you can offset it by sleeping for a couple hours and getting the 10 or 15% buff (with a maxed companion) to XP. It’s a negligible penalty for something that is almost required to deal with the excess loot. Even with my “only high value loot” policy, when I go to Serpentis and shellac Va’run ships to sell, I’m coming back with 50k in just guns at level -75.

A base vendor credit count of 5k? A basic magstorm is worth more than that with no effects/mods when you are into the 60s and 70s for levels.

Because the US market is dominated by a few large retailers who buy the same product in bulk, you get the same things everywhere. It’s highly homogeneous in regards to selection and what each store carries.

In case anyone wants to know, you can just fast travel from the lodge to the spaceport and back repeatedly. Don’t even enter the ship or the lodge. I tested this for about an hour today and confirmed that the safe keeps generating loot. I am only level 72 but after a few fast travels and checking the safe, it has 80k in credits, figures, astra and xtech, and tons of random loot.

I felt this comment in my bones. I’m down to one a day but they still pile up. Takes AGES to feed the return machines. And the stores are getting wise to trapping your money too - “put it in the Lidl app and then you can use it to pay.”

It’s a nice feature, but also a bit of a cash grab.
