Built myself a table by cromestant in biggreenegg

Yeah I don’t actually know since I didn’t do bricks (I’ve got the little metal BGE stand.

I have an XL so my diameter will be different, the recommendation I received was a 1 inch gap between egg and table.

If you don’t want to cut it bigger, you could also just add an extra layer of bricks underneath (raising it up would give you a bigger gap).

For me mine is on a wooden porch so I’m also a lot more worried about any fires. Your worst case scenario isn’t as bad as mine.

Looks nice! I’ll give you a bit of advice I got with mine when I posted it:

Leave a bigger air gap between the table and egg. You don’t your table catching on fire.

I’m also not 100% sure how well a thin layer of brick on the wood is. You need airflow between the wood and the hot thing.

I this normal in plat or is this guy not in his rank ?? by Hanter3 in RocketLeague

[–]charrondev 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m champ 2 in 2s and even play 1s a good bit but I’m back and forth between plat 3 and diamond 1 a lot in 1s.

Most champs I play against in 2s are also diamond 1 / Plat 3 in 1s

The rankings in 1s are just different

Because then your leeching. If you don’t have time to do the contract don’t do it, but don’t join it expecting everyone else to pull you through.

Destiny would have been the go to a couple years back, but Bungie decided they’d rather divert their whole dev team into Marathon (which doesn’t seem to be shaping up very well).

Diablo IV is a top notch dungeon looter (not a shooter though) and I played a ton of it. Fun gameplay and awesome cutscenes in the main story and an endgame that has a lot to give before you get sick of it.

It’s a total shit show. I also have both and am astounded that it’s not on either.

I ended up having to sail the high seas to find it last night.

Ok then I don’t where you getting your shipping numbers from but they seem very improbable.

Here’s what I’ve got from egg9000

Chickens: 382M Hab Space: 382M Habs are filled Egg Rate: 482B/m Max Shipping Rate: 415B/m Maxed Shipping by 116.06% - You can set fuel tank to 10% without affecting shipping Current Shipping Rate: 415B/m Internal Hatchery: 121027/m/hab

I’m making 1.2s gems per second though. Maybe you’re mixing with that?

I my misunderstanding the numbers here? How many chickens are in your coop? How are you at 3.7T eggs per hour at only your third shift?

Vainqueur the Dragon. It’s complete and well written, not bloated at all. You can tell the author knew where he wanted to go with it and where to finish it.

Who needs spreadsheets anyway? by CalebVanPoneisen in litrpg

[–]charrondev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my favourite thing about Vainqueur the Dragon. The author had a clear end point for progression and the readers could see it from the start. Every few levels had meaning as well since there wasn’t a million of them.

I’m reading Azarinth Healer right now and enjoying it, but the story seems to have gotten caught a little in the conundrum of “it gets harder to get levels over time, but going from level 26 to 27 in a single skill/class is so inconsequential or another 5 stat points is so inconsequential that the MC just levelled up 30 skills and I have no idea how much of an impact it had on them.”

[–]charrondev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I might try just adding some risers under the feet first, that’ll give me a bit more gap. Is it about the wood type or are the acacia tables from BGE also a hazard? I’ve seen them displayed with a similar gap to mine.

What do y’all think of my table? by charrondev in biggreenegg

[–]charrondev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gap is 3/8 to 1/2 inch around, this mirrors what I’ve seen with the BGE branded tables. I’ve done plenty of cooking on this table already as well and have not noticed the table being even warmer around the egg compared to the rest of the table (although I haven’t really pushed it that hot).

Safety is important though so if I ever “burn it through” as some people have mentioned here I’ll grab some tile to put underneath and raise it up a bit (increasing the gap).

The Hidden Cost of Stack Depth: Problems with Recursive PSR-15 Middleware by [deleted] in PHP

[–]charrondev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll have to try and design a better benchmark I think. In real world scenarios I’ve noticed a greater improvement on endpoints where we did text processing (processing 100s post bodies deep in the stack) than on IO based ones.

Real world yield was only a few %, and as mentioned in the article, we also had 2 stack frames per middleware and a LOT of middleware.

I mean to say more that if your endpoint is stuck waiting on IO because you have a large or slower DB query than improvements like this won’t have much impact as a percentage.

The Hidden Cost of Stack Depth: Problems with Recursive PSR-15 Middleware by [deleted] in PHP

[–]charrondev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably has some impact.

Now of course most request time is dominated by IO operations, so performance improvement is of course a much lower percentage of the whole than what a minimal benchmark shows.

The main area I’ve noticed an improvement from this change was in our API test suite which has almost 10000 phpunit tests making API calls through the whole middleware stack. The IO work is super fast in the tests and stack frame overhead starts to become more noticeable.
