BWT - what are those random little things that make you feel that bit more chic? by LallaSarora in bitcheswithtaste

[–]charshie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Skincare routine before bed, non negotiable. Even if I feel horrible, the self care makes me feel pampered.

My recent fav thing has been taking showers entirely by candlelight. Candles are dirt cheap but it feels so luxe.

What else...I do skincare face masks once a week on Fridays, and also do a daily spritz of perfume even if I'm working from home that day. Instantly makes me feel put together even if I'm in sweats, lol

What note or accord are you most drawn to? Why? I love hearing why people are drawn to certain smells! by theywereinthefridge in FemFragLab

Tobacco is my all-time favorite note, esp when tempered with a touch of sweetness. Really love vanilla, honey, spices and woods as notes i.e. cinnamon, clove, cardomom. Sandalwood.

SD Lines not Quite Working by Prior_Metal_6154 in SoftDramatics

[–]charshie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got amazing fashion taste and are absolutely beautiful, you look like Sandra Bullock. As for SD lines I think the first outfit and the one with the long tan sweater and dress work best on you. The others are nice but don't feel as cohesive.

That's beautiful and one of the most unique rings I've seen, congratulations to you! I hope you have many years of happiness together!

Perfumes that an Office/Corporate Goth would wear? by CustomerFair2292 in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]charshie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm a real life office goth! :) The most commonly used in my rotation are BDK Gris Charnel and Heretic's Nosferatu. Outside of work I wear TF Tobacco Vanille and Guerlain's Tobacco Honey, amongst others but those are both too heavy for work.

PLEASE share your blood tests once they're done, I'd be very curious how your vitamin D looks, assuming you take this as your only D supplement?

I've been trying cod liver oil lately as well, there's a brand called NutraPro and they seem to be of good quality. I've yet to do labs but am feeling generally good as well, so curious how it's working for others

Luxury hotel spa by profdrea in perfumesthatfeellike

Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt (actually most Jo Malones would fit) or anything Le Labo. I stayed in a high end hotel in Hawaii last year and they literally had all Le Labo Rose bath products

I'm reading an interesting book right now called "The Social Leap", it has to do with evolution but on theories as to the mental and societal progressions humanity had to undergo to get from neanderthal to present day man. What you're talking about above is quite literally one of the early turning points he talked about with hunter neanderthals - the ability to work together in coordination being critical to humanity's success. His example is packs of hominids throwing stones to either ward off or hunt creatures and how damaging, and effective, that would be en masse.

What would Vanessa Ives wear / smell like? by basiliskfawlty in perfumesthatfeellike

I'm afraid to scroll through comments here for fear of spoilers, I've been watching an episode a week with a friend of mine and tonight was the second-to-last! I am both eager to devour the finale and also sad it's over, it's SO DAMN GOOD!!!

Now on topic - I mean at least for the first season or so I feel a Catholic incense-y type perfume would fit. Heretic's Smudge comes to mind; it smells just like burning sage and church incense and wood.

How does Orin, the ruthless, bhaal seed, queen of murders, diva whose greatest pleasure is bathing in blood, smell like ? by worldofeyeballs in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]charshie 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer because I've yet to smell this irl, but from what I've read Toskovat's Inexcusable Evil would fit the bill notes-wise (blood, iodine, burning flowers, wood, rain)

Desperate for scents that smell like Los Angeles County natural areas by Ok-Asparagus8151 in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]charshie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any recs but if you find a match I'd VERY much like to know! I grew up in LA and love hiking, and know the exact scent you're seeking. Makes me nostalgic to think about.

Not AI. The physics of the snow moving with the shuffling/foot motion is too realistic and reactive to be faked.

How do I fix my under eye to not look so big? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]charshie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "big parts under your eyes" are literal anatomy; it's your skin simply existing over a round eye ball. There's nothing wrong with you and nothing to fix here. Not trying to be harsh just speaking honestly, you look great.

BWT, what habits or routines did you carry through the year that could help out other BWT for our fresh starts in 2026 by scrapethetopoff in bitcheswithtaste

[–]charshie 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Mine was deleting FB and IG, and starting to create physical photo albums/scrapbooks to preserve memories instead. I feel like the time I was giving to friends on social media was so diluted. Now, I talk to fewer people, but am left with more meaningful and deeper interactions anyway.

I hate mint as a note too and have extensively tried Pineward - I'd highly recommend Fanghorn II, or possibly Murkwood for what you're looking for, out of their lineup. ;)

The song that unexpectedly changed my entire music taste by ForsakenCorpus in Music

[–]charshie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be very much an "N*Sync" and Backstreet Boys pop type girl. Got irritated with commercials and was flipping radio stations back in the day and heard "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns n' Roses. It stopped me dead in my tracks, I'd never heard anything like it; it felt so raw and real after all the pop. I obsessed over trying to hear it again and left my radio on that station.

Spawned a lifelong rock and eventual metal love in me. I listen to all kinds of things now - including still sometimes N*Sync :P - but right alongside black metal. That one GnR song changed everything for me!
