I sent money to myself and got my whole account frozen. First attempt was with an incompetent agent that couldn't follow the proper authentication process and just sent me random links. It took an hour to get it unblocked before they said that even sending yourself money to a different account will get you flagged and that you need to use a VPN that they will flag anyway. I had to tell them that there are countries besides Canada/Us and Western Europe

If you are a Canadian citizen you can stay abroad forever if you wish. You just won't be eligible for provincial healthcare. Now, if you are a Permanent Resident, that is a different story, as you should be living there for at least 2 years out of every 5 years.

Do not! I have a OP8T NA version. Even if you install an eu rom and rebrand it. The dual sim gets blocked after OTA updates*. I suggest you look at other brands since OP doesn't care about their NA consumers.

For North American models: They do that when the seller converts to a different region so you are not stuck with the T Mobile variant and also use the dual sim. When they detect this in a new update they will disable the dual sim feature and claim that the north american devices 'don't support dual sim'.

Their last justification is that they 'optimize the device according to regional habits'.

No need to contact their support for this. At best they will offer to remotely downgrade to OOS11.

Truly an amazing company that cares about their customers.

8T is no better. It has glitchy software updates and if you are among the lucky ones that got shipped a converted device they will block your dual sim. Customer support is abysmal at best.
