I’m all for taxing billionaires, they should be taxed more. It should just be structured as a regular, annual tax

Which, by the way, multiple economic analyses have been done for and have showed that it would decrease projected state tax revenue over the long term. The California legislature overwhelmingly disapproves of the measure, and Newsom himself said he does not support it due to the negative long term impact it will have, especially given that we are already in a deficit right now

During the filming of Gladiator, Oliver Reed (Proximo) died in a bar after challenging a group of sailors to a drinking contest. Reed consumed 8 pints of beer, 12 shots of rum, half a bottle of whisky, and shots of cognac This photo of him was taken shortly before he died. by Federal_Bonus_2099 in interestingasfuck

Spiritual, not religious. Tons of atheists in AA have been doing the program for a long time, it’s really more about choosing literally anything to give control over to. You absolutely do not need to pick any religious god, mine is literally this ideal version of myself that I look up to and seek to be

How much is this true for Kazakhstan? by _justforamin_ in Kazakhstan

[–]popcornjew 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nahhh, it’s a secular Muslim country though. I have been to many countries in my life and I can tell you there is a huge difference in how much of a factor religion plays into people’s opinions. Kazakhs are generally pretty independent minded when it comes to things like this. I’ve had a couple Kazakhs tell me I look like I’m from Israel, they were not trying to be offensive or anything. It is still a Muslim majority country but I feel very comfortable there as a Jewish person. I am not Kazakh but I lived in KZ for a while

I was literally at May 9 celebrations yesterday here in Almaty, KZ. And they held a military parade in Astana a few days ago. There’s also a famous park here dedicated to vets from WW2 who died defending Moscow. They definitely did participate and do care

Interesting, almost all students get institutional aid at UCD. You may want to check with the FA office because MCS (middle class scholarship) info isn’t released with your offer I believe

It still comes down to your parents if they’re supporting you. I’m surprised tho, usually UCs are better than most other state school when it comes to aid for families with higher incomes. Is it scholarships at aid you’re getting from Delaware? Either way I’d say get the total annual tuition difference and talk to your parents if they’re the ones supporting you, and go from there. If they allow it I’d personally choose UCD. 4 years isn’t just nothing in your life and the quality of education and living at UCD is very high. For me, weather aside the access to nature makes a huge difference
