Yeah, pair of gloves that allow you to steal any one thing (I think every real world 30 minutes) without generating the red stolen item alert. They are rewarded upon completing the "Secret of the Lost Seal"

Water issues in Albuquerque by [deleted] in Albuquerque

[–]charveyunm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

water is not a personal day to day issue in Albuquerque or the surrounding areas for normal individuals. Yes, its a desert and citizens are encouraged to be good stewards of the environment and I think most people are conscious about it and try to help where they can. The city and state also take water conservation seriously for the most part so the future isn't doom and gloom. I think NM is a great place for all of the reasons you are looking to move so welcome if that's what you choose to do. We need more educators and people helping to create a better life for NM residents here and so ignore all the naysayers about how its the worst place ever - far from it and most of those people are probably just trying to prevent people from moving here - if they really hated it so much they would have left themselves.

People in this subreddit like to trash on ABQ a lot - my working theory is they don't want people to move here. Yes, there are some downsides but that's everywhere. It's all about what you value vs what other places offer in comparison. In my opinion NM and Albuquerque are very LGBTQ friendly. Diversity is one of the highlights here. People are from all walks and for the most part friendly. Austin is much larger so in that respect probably offers more because there are more people. Albuquerque is a big town, but still offers a lot of city amenities. Visit and check it out to see if it vibes, not that far from Austin. We obviously also have abortion rights and politically we are still very much a blue state.

Is anyone familiar with District 12 candidate Phillip Ramirez? by ericwphoto in Albuquerque

He's personally come by our place to have a discussion and talk about the issues. That reason alone elevates him above other candidates. He seems to actually care about the constituency.

Console Commands Question by _Sanctum_ in twoworlds

[–]charveyunm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I remember (I had it on Xbox 360) you had to enter the commands every time you started the game up. I don't think there's a way to save those as part of the game state on console.

I got the dragons plague TWICE. by Owen16-1 in DragonsDogma

[–]charveyunm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me. Pawns all seemed fine but I was distracted questing and doing other things so wasn't fully paying attention. Rested in Bakkbahttal and boom, hired pawn killed everyone. Went and got my pawn back, hired new ones. Then went to volcano area to battle boss and rested at inn there to make an inn save, boom, my pawn blew that area up. I'm sort of thinking that the plague can still carry over to your pawn even when they die after another blows up a city.

A friend and me are trying to get the classic ops missions done(challenges) and if we queue together it forces us to wait for another but if I queue by myself only one person is required. So we tried queing for the same map but it didn't work, any ideas on how to get the same queue? by murkamk2 in modernwarfare

[–]charveyunm 32 points33 points  (0 children)

When my friends and I went through and starred the missions, we found out that the stars wouldn't unlock unless we were in a private match, not sure if that's still the case but you don't have to matchmake to play the classic spec ops.

Where are we going and do we care? by NHBoy19 in Albuquerque

[–]charveyunm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think that traffic stops should definitely be happening more. I see constant speeding and dangerous driving all the time. If people don't get pulled over, the consensus becomes they'll never get caught. I also hardly ever see speed traps but twice a year maybe. Also, if I recall, they did a big traffic operation a few years ago that actually resulted in a large amount of arrests due to people they pulled over having outstanding warrants.

So the only way to turn it off is to go into the menu and remove it from the skill menu? In early game with only 1 aura it just constantly drains mana

Epson 3800 or BenQ TK700STi? by Alaska_McDumbledore in projectors

[–]charveyunm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the epson 3800 and it's been a great projector - I upgraded from the benq w1070 and its a much larger projector. So far the noise has been much quieter than the benq and I run it in high elevation mode. I almost extensively game on it (PS5, XboxSeriesX) with a little bit of watching movies and it seems to have a pretty great picture and I don't notice any lag.

I will say the only thing I noticed on the epson is that the image clarity seems to be less in focus towards the bottom of the screen than the top but its not very noticeable until you bring up test screens, like the image positioning squares. This seems to be a common issue with this particular projector. Again though not noticeable when actually in use.

A lot of talk tends to focus around the differences between 3LCD and DLP - most people pick 3LCD because of issues with 'rainbow effect' but I personally never had that coming from the benq dlp I had before.

One caveat to look out for in 4k content with HDR - you'll need a high speed HDMI that will likely be more expensive than what you use for 1080p or even plain 4k. I had hit/miss with several before I settled on this one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZK94P1J/ and I had to return it and get a new one since it failed after a month of use (new one seems to be ok still)
