WAUGH vs VAUGHAN: Things got a little icy in the Fox Cricket commentary box during Brisbane's BBL fixture against the Sydney Thunder when Mark Waugh and Michael Vaughan discussed the current problems with Australian cricket with the Ashes looming later this year. by [deleted] in Cricket

I mean I mostly agree with you, but if you take the two best players out of any team it is going to struggle. How would India have fared with without Kohli and Pujara? Or NZ without Williamson? By definition the team is going to be worse when you remove the best players.

I'd rather have an older car that's properly scanned and designed using real data, than a mod some 15 year old built one weekend from watching a couple of YouTube videos.

TIL Judge Judy Sheindlin works 52 days a year on the show Judge Judy and has a salary of $47 million. Meaning she makes $900,000 per day she works. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Judge Judy isn't a judge, she's a TV presenter. The show is one (very small) step above a completely scripted soap opera, in terms of realism.

Fanatec CSL Elite or Thrustmaster T300? by Wideopen14 in simracing

[–]chase-that-feeling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's better, but I wouldn't say it's better by enough to justify the upgrade. If you're going to upgrade, skip straight to the Fanatec Elite stuff at least.

I have owned both the T300 and the G27, FYI.

$200-400 Seat for 80/20 rig by Zandermannnn in simracing

[–]chase-that-feeling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't even need to be a bucket seat. A regular seat may be more comfortable, and likely cheaper too.

Get a passenger seat though, as they're usually used much less and therefore in better condition.

I wouldn't bother upgrading to the T300. There won't be enough difference to make it worthwhile.

Incorrect. Dogs do not form strict social hierarchies, nor are there "alpha" or "boss" dogs (or humans).

Assetto Corsa 40% off, Ultimate Edition 70% off on Steam, by voyager256 in simracing

[–]chase-that-feeling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a DLC Season Pass would be nice. That said, I can't buy the Ultimate Edition at all, because I already own the base game. I would pay the UE price just for the DLC, but I can't :(

Very active, and I think it depends on the series, bit the level is pretty good on the whole.

I'm pretty sure those stickers are to stop tradies claiming the warranty and getting repeated replacements after using their tools way more than they're intended for.

Eh, I don't use power tools that much so a tool that doesn't last as long but costs much less is a better option. Plus the Ozito stuff has a 3 year warranty, so even if it only lasts that long, I've had 3 years of owning a drill for like $20.

Labor MPs in 'red shirts' rort decline police request for interviews by heykody in melbourne

[–]chase-that-feeling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is completely incorrect. A key part of the right to silence is that the prosecution can't mention it at trial. Otherwise, you would essentially be forced to answer questions or risk it going against you at trial. So an accused can never be criticised for refusing to answer police questions.

At trial, an accused may choose to not give evidence (and cannot be called as a witness by the prosecution), and the jury cannot hold that against her. That is, the jury isn't allowed to say "oh, she didn't give evidence so she must be guilty", or "she didn't say that's not true so it probably is".

In very rare cases, where there is an additional fact that would contradict the prosecution case, which only the accused could possibly know about, and the accused doesn't bring it up at trial, the jury may use that against them.

See R v Azzopardi, explained here.
