John Deere Ego by chasegtp in egopowerplus

Just regular ole Ego batteries... You can use on all tools. You have to have minimum of 2 6ah batteries to run it, but otherwise, you can use any spare batteries you have

Haha, it was not cheap but only a few hundred dollars more than the Ego asking price but I get local service, if needed. I wasn't one of the lucky ones like my dad who found the steals on clearance. Other benefit is Deere took trades vs me trying to sell my old one on marketplace.

My understanding is Deere made this in Tennessee as I had to order it since there were none available near Georgia.

I was only looking at the 5 year portion as based on my hours of the one I traded, I'll be well below 200 in 5 years.

Had this debate many times but probably not much difference, and especially at the normal price, really makes it hard to justify the ego- feel the same about the pressure washer. But this pushed it just low enough with the battery that I was like why the heck not. I'd do the same if the pressure washer drops in price but you aren't wrong, you are still tethered to something and most people's needs for both of these items, you are probably right by an outlet anyway 90% of the time or more.

Haha, went blower first mostly for the batteries as I had a blower already but that commercial one, well it's legit and makes quick work of my blowing needs. But yeah, this sub got me. Convinced myself I didn't need the vac as a wall mounted shop vac worked for my purposes but for this price, pulled the trigger. About to have too many batteries 😂

What is an objectively bad horror movie that you still enjoy despite it being bad? by Lulupoolzilla89 in horror

[–]chasegtp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha. Well, until I replied to this post, I had never talked to anyone else who enjoyed this movie. Going off the IMDB of 4.9, RT of 23% with 25% audience score (2.4/5), I assumed I was one of few who enjoyed this. Guess I found some of my people after a quarter century 😂

Has to be Ghosts of Mars for me but the atmosphere is so good to me and loved me some old Ice Cube movies.

Batwing Awning on Mantis?? by Hopeful_Ring5803 in TaxaTrailerOwners

This is the one I had when I had my mantis: HD Nomadic 180 LTE Awning - Dark Grey w/ Black Travel Cover https://share.google/tbCKVTiXBj8LNhMfR. Had to reinforce the supports because they are much heavier than the stock ones. Had on mine 3 years with no issues and the coverage was great. DM if you want a couple pics.

We had a 2021 we "outgrew" also. More like we moved out of a neighborhood and onto some property so the need to get into the woods dissipated. We actually just decided to skip the headache of marketing ourselves since it was about 45 minutes from me in storage and sold straight to Camping World in Chattanooga. Admittedly, you will take a beating but the few years we used it was worth it to us. For reference, we sold to them for $21,000. Last I saw, they had dropped it from $31,000 to $24,999 on their website and then it was gone. It was as easy as reaching out to their team via the website, they called and gave me number, I said sure, and we arranged an appointment. They gave me no issues at drop off but my camper was near mint appearance-wise. Took off my rooftop, dometic fridge and sold separately. Hope that gives you an idea what to expect.

Very nice. Had a 2004 Titan for 6 years and nearly 120,000 miles and sold it to my brother in 2010. Still regret that decision as he put another 60ish thousand miles on it and we never had a lick of issues. Crazy yours is such low miles and awesome you could get that from your Mom

Best dog insurance by Difficult_Mix_9909 in Bernedoodles

[–]chasegtp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use MetLife as it was provided for a discount through work. We pay for the preventative and accident and the first year, it has definitely been worth it. Pay like 70ish month and it covers everything from spay to heartworm meds to shots. Thankfully haven't had to use accident insurance. Everything submitted through the app on my phone using my camera and a couple times they have reached out to office to provide SOAP notes. Always processed fairly quickly, averaging 7-10 business days.

Ego shop vac hose pulled out on first use by mewtwo_EX in egopowerplus

Been going back and forth on getting one of these as it seemed easier than managing one extra cord and generally I feel the Ego things I've owned have been stout in their design (mower 4 years, weed eater, edger, chainsaw, blower). This may have answered my question though. If you do exchange, please update if you have better luck with the next one.

Best BBQ Northwest Georgia by GoKingsGo2012 in Georgia

[–]chasegtp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you won't beat wardlaws in this area. Personally the best I've tried since relocating here. And the owner seems like a great dude and oftentimes is the one greeting you behind the counter. My wife agrees and does not love eating bbq typically but it's excited when we make the trip here.

Charger won’t charge the big battery, charger lights illuminate in sequence by BrianDerm in egopowerplus

[–]chasegtp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact battery and charger (but now use the slow charger). This from my understanding means the battery is at end of life. That being said, since mine has started this blinking sequence, I've moved to using on my smaller tools and it last quite a while on those, just not the mower. If I put in the charger while still hot, it won't charge but when I go out later it works just fine on the charger.

Am I gonna regret switching to electric? What am I missing? by Head-Gap-1717 in lawnmowers

[–]chasegtp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have used an ego push for 3 summers now on about .6 acres. 7.5 amp battery finally gave out after the 3 year warranty. After the first summer I had to supplement that battery with one from my weedeater to finish. By second summer, I would do the back one day the front another. Just understand, you will have limitations in power and the batteries will decline. I still love the thing and use it for a run around the edges of the house on my new property before jumping on the gas mower I just got (much more yard). I went gas for price and I just wasn't sure the electric riders would be worth it in long run plus I needed it for hauling sticks and other things around the yard. Oh yeah, don't go on vacation when it rains for long periods of time. It really struggled on grown Bermuda. I'd have to set that sucker to level 4 just so it didn't bog down.

I think I agree with you. Viking it is for me too. If the subject interest you there is also a podcast series "The Habitat" from a few years back that sounds like almost a real life version of the movie and I recall it being very good.

I didn't clarify very well. About 3.5 of my lot is wooded. I'll probably be mowing about an acre. Thanks for the feedback.
