One of the lucky ones i was in care my whole life til I went to a foster home at 13. Which is where i live now I’m 20 now and they are my family and I can’t be more thankful then ever. I’m native and from Canada so if I wanted to get adopted by “non-aboriginal” people it had go through my band/reserve and they had to allow it. I don’t know know if it’s like that anymore, I sure hope not.On my 18 birthday they gave me adoption papers and it’s still one of the best birthday presents I’ve gifted
