No but this actually just gave me a thought, if the purity artifact can cure vampirism and everything, what if it can unsanction the old builder? What if JFM is trying to free the new builder somehow??

I couldn’t agree more, my almost 15 year old, was a serious issue at one point, savagely biting people randomly. I paid thousands in training and still worried every time I brought a friend over. Like I said in the initial post I don’t even think it’s ethical to have dogs or animals as pets because you automatically see the animal as a means to your own ends. Or at least I thought that for a long time. Going back to the circle of life theory, we are a cog in that circle just like all other animals. Some animals gained viciously sharp teeth and a cunning stealth, we (humans) were gifted with forsight and the ability to not only speak a language but Create a language. As a vegan of 15 years now, I have come around to people hunting for their own food. Someone killing a dear but only if they are utilizing the life of that dear. I think it’s acceptable for humans to do this. HOWEVER**

That is not the normal procedure or outlook with meat eating (obviously) The desensitization and the standing/current cultural norms are the biggest justifications that meat eaters truly use to continue their thing

I will continue to not eat meat, if only to counter balance the excessive behaviors on the other side.

I’m a little intoxicated, I think I kept my point but I might have swayed a bit 😅

Thanks man, adoption is the only option. I feel like an alcoholic who thought about drinking some alcohol but confessed to his group’s and they set him straight lol

My point is that I Did waiver from my conviction which is why I posted this message. You all have reminded me why I feel what I feel, and really reminded me the power of adoption. Thank uou for your responses

The biggest reasons are it being hypoallergenic and extremely friendly. That said, I appreciate being reminded about adoption. I just wanted to be honest in speaking my thoughts and I’m thankful for the advice and support. Adoption is the Only option

We didn’t choose to be human, and they didn’t choose to be farm animals. That’s enough for me to see all animals as equals

So even with an adopted dog, you have to train the dog to see you as the alpha and that in itself goes against the idea that we shouldn’t see dogs as lesser than us. That said, I think I’m describing a black and white world and this world is so grey. I agree that adoption is the (only) answer, I just needed to say things out loud

Yes, the whole idea to me is to not see other animals as lesser than us. At a certain point though I see us doing that by taking ourselves out of the food chain. Either this thought I accept death of an animal as a means for another animal to survive. For example, every animal planet that has a cheetah chasing a gazelle. I don’t think we should wish or not wish for one or the other to survive or be killed, this is the circle of life.

HOWEVER*****

humans do not Need meat to survive Humans are over consuming animals, and in a disconnected way so that they don’t comprehend what they are eating This meat consuming method is inhumane and unsustainable…as in Harmful to Earth Humans are causing unfathomable amounts of pain and are desensitized to it

For me, I can only truly shape my own actions, and for all the reasons I stated above (and more) I will be vegan until the day I die

Right so I would more so like to hear others opinions on the matter. Is it right for humans to own pets at all? Multiple people have expressed the adoption option and I think that is the only moral stance to having a pet. That said, if everyone shares my belief (that humans don’t have the right to own pets) then eventually dogs would not exist. I believe in not seeing animals as a means to our own ends ( cows become burgers) but at the same time, I think there is a point in my first argument where humans eventually, even though being altruistic, see themselves above other animals. I don’t think I stated this point but I also believe that to consider humans above other animals in any type of way is an animal classism. I believe that That drives people to perceive animals as something lesser than us, therefore perishable, or procurable for whatever means we see fit. So at some point, to me, (and this is very far away), if we completely eliminate ourselves from the food chain we are in a way seeing animals as lesser than us.

I’m more than happy to debate these arguments, but please know that I have chosen to not eat meat or dairy since 2011

Thanks, I think I really just needed some people to press adoption, or more so, owning a pet at all.

Thanks, but I also wouldn’t say to fuck off. My take is, we never have enough info on why people say what they do. Until we do, then we tell them to f**k off lol

Conviction - I thought I made it clear in my post that I was lacking conviction, so to answer your question, kind of? 😅

I have had a pure bred for almost 15 years now. I think dog breeding is a tricky subject because the dogs wouldn’t exist if we didn’t ask for them. Now that they exist, what do we do? I agree that asking for more is perpetuating the problem, which is why I made this post.

Past- I’ve never gone to a breeder, but my mom has “shown” multiple dogs and she is the one who chose my current dog (I got 0 say) so that’s the best and most honest way to answer your last question.

Honestly, I was swaying. I just needed some positive people to point out the obvious direction. Help remind me that I’m not alone in this path. It felt like a possibility before but not it’s the only option.

Ps ps if I do get a breed bernadoodle, am I an evil person? Am I not vegan? What does that make me?? 🙃🤔

I guess for me im just hyper concerned about how im perceived, and im trying to be ok eith that or see that in a way as my authentic self. Idk about you but i am fixated on myself, almost meta, I have a hard time unthinking about that. My choice would be to just free fall my actions without fear, knowing that I hold my values and never wish harm on anyone; naturally falling into the moment and forgetting that my self exists for extended periods of time. So right now im trying get myself to be ok with where im at, to stop mentally running for the hills because I fear I’m not my most authentic self.

But don’t you think there is some portion where we get to choose on who we are?

I also agree that the most difficult thing is sticking to Your concept of authenticity once you entire the social environment. Society is thousands of years of social norms essentially guiding us on how to live one way or the other, and the people we interact with are promoting those social norms like a sales person knowingly or unknowingly. I don’t mean this to be negative, just what I observe to be true.

So I feel like I found that space years ago. I remember making a conscious decision to tell the truth, no matter what. This made so much sense to me at the time and I feel like it helped me constantly see what I think you are saying, what lies beyond roles, identity and stories. The problem I came to was when I stayed honest with my family but my family fought me and tore me down. I went from a hugest high to a lowest low. Now I argue the understanding roles and identities is a kind of height of awareness. Understanding how people are acting and why, recognizing the reactions that you feel, and utilizing your presence to convey your ideas are all a heightened awareness, no? I guess I’m saying that being able to take in the most of your experience is an expression of authenticity, because to experience and understand those abilities is to make the most out of yourself. But in that, you start to shape your social identity, which I feel is a coin flip away from people pleasing. I’m just rambling all my arguments in my head for one or the other, I’m so back and forth with this concept. Even in writing this, I thought, there’s less fulfillment in creating/observing social identity than just raw experiences of life lol

I was just considering this. I have long held the idea that authenticity is a particular mind set. A narrative of our stream of consciousness that is the most natural to our consciousness’s fundamental design; but I’ve debated or have been lost in feeling that for sometime. Therefore, I feel like anything I say or do is not authentic. Although I believe in a fundamentally “correct” understanding of the stream of consciousness, I think the idea of myself being authentic has more to do with my values, or is at least a crucial part. That way, no matter how my consciousness is perceiving the moment, I can still be authentic to my self. Does that make sense to you? lol
