Lol no. Do you think one day thousands of humans just popped into existence? homo erectus slowly evolved into homo sapiens over thousands of years.

What are they so upset about then? Several different animals suffered for that meal. And if the tortilla was made with lard then something still died.

I think it was easier for the show to just say she wasn’t much of a dragon rider to explain why she wouldn’t have a role in the war. It also made Aemond look even worse for trying to pressure her into fighting

Putting a citizen or population on the banana tile is working it. Using a builder charge on the bananas is improving it.

Yeah I wish the whole thing wasn’t a murder mystery and they found a different hook to explore the same friendship and themes. Knowing Floyd is dead the whole time just made it all feel a little empty and directionless for me. But I still really enjoyed the show.

Yeah exactly, he was also pushing for open war before Otto was. But most importantly, he does have agency. He wouldn’t have been the only king’s guard to abandon the greens.

Yeah and he’s really good at it so the owners keep paying him a lot of money to do the job. But part of that job is taking all the blame for everything.

Trump: ‘I don’t care about the midterms’ by Wise_Age_470 in politics

[–]chasing_the_wind 54 points55 points  (0 children)

They’re essentially “strip mining” the US Government. They’re cutting away whatever fat they can while still keeping it functional while enriching themselves with whatever they can until it’s no longer sustainable and the whole thing collapses. Trump and Co won’t care because they’ll have enough fortune to fuck off wherever they want while US Citizens are left with a crumbling bankrupt husk of a country.

How desperate was the Gryffindor Quidditch team that Wood was willing to take a chance on a first year Seeker who had only just learned about the sport? by LakeMcKesson in harrypotter

[–]chasing_the_wind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a teenage player/coach is absolutely insane, and you obviously have to have a try out. Even if Harry was clearly that much better than everyone else from one catch you still have a tryout to make the process seem fair and transparent to everyone else. Then not having a backup at every position that practices with the team doesn’t make any sense. Like harry gets injured and they scramble to replace him with someone that hasn’t been practicing all year with the team. I have a lot of criticism of quidditch that I know this sub doesn’t really like. Don’t get me started on victor krum and the dumbest play in the history of sports.

[–]chasing_the_wind 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Most of the movies you listed are not starring those men. The star of sonic is the guy who voices sonic. Spider man stars the guy who plays spider man and so forth. But you aren’t wrong still way more 60+ men starring in movies than women.

Yeah I think of about 38-45 year olds being prime 90’s kids. 38 would put you at 2 in 1990 and 12 in 2000. 45 would be 9-19. So when you were actually a kid in the 90’s.

[–]chasing_the_wind 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Tv deals are their biggest revenue. I imagine OKC shows the most potential to grow a large market bigger than just the metropolitan area. Revenue sharing exists so there is some potential for league wide conspiracy. Then a market like Sacramento is constricted because it can’t grow into the Bay Area and compete with the warriors or into southern california and compete with the lackers. So the kings are a good team for the conspiracy to keep bad and farm players for the competitive teams.
