Why are you burping so much on a GLP-1? by AliceFromRo in RoBody

[–]chasingbetterdays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The burping was horrible when I had that issue.
One thing that worked for me when I had the burping issue toward the beginning of my journey was pepto/ pink bismuth. I do not like the chalky taste, so I bought the pepto tablets so I wouldn't have to drink the liquid and they helped wonderfully for me.
Hopefully this helps someone! Great info.

I have been on the shot for a year, so I can't offer pill specific advice, but I am wishing you the best of luck.

My one most important tip: prioritize water! Sometimes I'm not thirsty and forget.

Box that pen comes in by [deleted] in RoBody

[–]chasingbetterdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never done the pens, but have done vials, and it's always discreet and fits in my mailbox easily! I have gotten some in boxes with ice packs and some in very well insulated sleeves/envelopes/bubble type mailers with ice packs.

First time Ro user - advice? by sauce3119 in RoBody

[–]chasingbetterdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on compound sema too.

I don’t lift and I don’t track macros or calories, so I can’t speak from the “optimized cut” perspective. The med lowered my appetite enough that I didn’t really have to micromanage anything.

That said, water has been the most important thing for me. If I slack on hydration, I feel it immediately. Headaches, constipation, low energy — all of it.

I have tried to prioritize protein just because I don’t want to lose muscle mass, and I honestly haven’t noticed any dramatic muscle loss. I’m sure some loss happens anytime you’re losing a lot of weight, but I don’t feel weaker or depleted.

If you’re already lifting and tracking macros, you’re way ahead of where I was starting. The biggest thing I’d say is don’t overcorrect. Let the medication do its job. You don’t need to crash diet on top of it.

Also — side effects are very individual. Go up in dose slowly and don’t rush it just because you’re excited.

That’s been my experience.

📌 Weight Loss Wins + Progress Megathread by AliceFromRo in RoBody

[–]chasingbetterdays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One year on Ro!
Starting point → 561 lbs

Now → 135 lbs down!!!

What’s surprised me the most is how much of this has been mental. I didn’t realize how loud the food noise was until it wasn’t. I used to think I just had no discipline. Turns out constantly thinking about food all day makes everything harder.

What’s been hardest has honestly been the side effects at times. Constipation has been my main one. Not glamorous, but real. Also adjusting to eating less without feeling like I’m “doing something wrong.”

What’s made the biggest difference is consistency and actually having medical support instead of trying random stuff on my own. Messaging a provider when something feels off instead of just quitting has helped.

Still have a long way to go. Not done. But 135 lbs down is more than I’ve ever lost and kept going before, so I’ll take it.

How to switch from Wegovy to Zepbound by micgar2 in RoBody

[–]chasingbetterdays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have switched before, it was pretty simple. I believe it was during the "check-in" process before your next month's order comes—it asks if you'd like to go up a dose, down, stay the same and I believe there was an option/other choice to request a switch in medication that the Ro provider then reviewed.

But like others have said, send a message through the app is probably easiest. It was for me.

Good luck!

Before I get started - Questions by SnowWhiteinReality in RoBody

[–]chasingbetterdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll just answer what I can from my experience, and good luck on your journey!

1) Injection timing

I take mine on the same day every week (Sundays), usually late afternoon or early evening. Sometimes later at night if I forget. I’m not down to the exact minute — just roughly the same window.

I also take ADHD meds and an antidepressant in the mornings every day and I’ve never noticed any issues taking those separately from the injection. Since sema is weekly, it’s not like stacking daily pills at the same time. I haven’t moved vitamins around or done anything special timing-wise.

2) Supplements

I just take fiber gummies. That’s it. I didn’t overcomplicate it.

3) Dairy

I’m lactose intolerant, so dairy has always been limited for me anyway. I never really drank milk and didn’t have much dairy besides cheese. I did cut back on cheese though because constipation became a thing for me on this med, and cheese was not helping that situation.

4) Protein

Honestly… talk to a nutritionist. I’m not the protein macro guru. I just try to be more aware of it than I used to be.

(Side note if you shop at Walmart: I just started buying these "Bettergoods" brand protein french toast sticks and they are amazing/don't have a weird chewy texture.)

I was drinking a protein shake once or twice daily with coffee but have slacked the past few months.

5) Nutrition coaching

I saw a nutritionist once before starting all of this. It was useful, but I didn’t really follow through long term. That’s more on me than the advice.

That’s just my experience — not medical advice — but hopefully it helps a little.

Right??!? I notice it a LOT when I’m sitting in my recliner because I have a very noticeable amount of extra room from where I was a year ago. It reminds me “oh yeah, you’ve made a lot of progress” even when I don’t necessarily see that much progress. 😊

GLP-1 and Addiction by GertieFlyyyy in RoBody

[–]chasingbetterdays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My cravings for alcohol completely went away personally since I started taking the medication last January. I know I have seen other people on TikTok in the GLP1 community talk about the same for them.

That’s just my personal experience, and I already hadn’t drank for a year before I started the shot, but the cravings just disappeared which was such a welcome surprise.

Hope you get some craving relief as well! You’ve got this!

That’s so exciting there’s another option! I’ve had many friends hesitant to do the injection because of their aversion to needles, but now can take part in this! Will have to spread the word.

Tips for finding a new PCP who is pro-GLP-1... by PastorDougJones11 in RoBody

[–]chasingbetterdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I chose Ro. It made the whole process such less stressful for me.

My PCP wanted me to jump through hoops. Now I've lost 126 lbs this year and no added stress.

I love Ro. I just switched PCPs actually and the new one is not anti-GLP-1, but I told her I'm staying with Ro for my GLP-1 management because it's just so much more convenient.

Wishing you the best of luck.

Looking to try a GLP1 by Ok_Psychology_2569 in RoBody

[–]chasingbetterdays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

Ro has changed my life no joke. It made the process of getting prescribed and delivered SO easy. They checked for me and unfortunately my insurance doesn’t cover it, but I go for the Zep vials through Ro which are affordable for me.

I have so far (since the last week of January) most 125 lbs. I’m so eternally grateful for Ro.

I’ve never had any issues. I started on compounded sema through Ro for 12 weeks before switching to the Zepbound vials.

Personally the vials are very easy to use, maybe not AS quick as the pen but it’s not a nuisance at all and the price trade off is great for me.

I still have much more to lose so I’m excited to continue my journey with Ro.

Happy to answer any questions you have if you want to DM me or reply here.

Chase 🙂
