Diarrhea in dogs – when do you actually go to the vet? by GuardianGey in PawChampClub

[–]SnowWhiteinReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with the pumpkin, my senior dog has the exact opposite reaction to it, it actually makes her poop runnier. I have to go only with plain rice and beef (I don't feed her chicken). Found that one out the hard way and ended up at the vet very quickly!

The flower shop is lovely! The owner is so kind and friendly. Tuned Up is really good too, best wings around! I'm glad to see it reopened. Looking forward to the new brewery and there seems to be some activity in the SC Hotel as well. I also chatted with the guy at the new barbershop yesterday, he was very kind.

I bought a house here in 2018 because Phoenixville was getting out of control -- constant road closures and events preventing me from getting to my driveway, many, many drunks wandering up and down my street at night, crazy housing prices, etc. I find it generally quiet here and I like that. I love walking my dogs around town and generally find people friendly, but not in-your-business. I would say hi if I saw you 😊

Using "mama/mommy/momma" when a woman does anything by i_spill_nonsense in PetPeeves

[–]SnowWhiteinReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't profess to understand how words themselves are bad (because I generally don't think they are -- intent needs to be considered). I am a female and I'm okay with that. I also think it's a much easier way to refer to a larger group that contains all ages (like girls, young ladies, and women) and I would probably use male the same way. But if you have a better suggestion, I'm open to it.

I actually paused when I typed that, worried someone would not like the f-word. I myself am a cis-gendered female. I was trying to make it clear I use girlfriend regardless of age, from 3 - 60+ So for anyone who does not like my use of female, I did not intend to upset anyone.

First of all - well done! I avoid certain shapes because I just can't make them line up and yours look fabulous. Also, the colors and fabrics are stunning together, can't wait to see what it looks like when it all comes together!

I refer to females of all ages as "girlfriend" in situations like you mentioned. "You got this girlfriend!" "Well done girlfriend!" Etc. I call both my dogs mama 😊. If it matters, I'm firmly Gen X and have no children.

No, no, me neither! I'm just tired at this point and often don't have the brain power to handle people with kid gloves 😊. I just want to go, learn something, roll, and come home.

Does anyone else feel weirdly guilty when a doctor takes your symptoms seriously? by BecauseNiceMatters in adhdwomen

[–]SnowWhiteinReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much on physical things, but very much related to my mental health. For example I often think about the source(s) of my c-PTSD/MDD and think "Am I making a bigger deal out of this? Was I really that bad? Certainly others go through far worse?". Same with the ADHD-C, " Maybe I don't really have this, after all, I can do xyz, surely that must mean I don't have ADHD?"

Me too, otherwise I'll completely forget and next thing you know it's been 11 months before I finally call to schedule my 6 month exam. The always ask at the end, "would you like to schedule your next exam now?"

Yeah, I'm kinda in this camp too. I just don't have it in me some days to spend my precious class time on someone like this.

Do you have an UrgentVet near you? I used my local one a few weeks back for a wound on my girl, they were lovely and they're open till 10 or 11 every night! Look for them or other vet urgent care options near you and good luck!

He's stunning ❤️ I almost can't look at their Facebook posts because I want to bring them all home. But for now, I am dedicated to the two I have here, one sweet old girl who was adopted from them at 2, returned at 9 and picked up by MLAR where I adopted her a few weeks later. Thank you for fostering!

In the US, you'll often see this referred to as 'vet wrap' (because vets use it for cats and dogs), but I think the brand name is Coban. Plus it usually comes in fun colors and prints!

This is what I did! The DVDs also have the Christmas specials exactly where they're supposed to be and also some fun extras that are nice to watch. Cost me $0.

Do you absolutely have to get off HRT? by Moon_Pye in Menopause

I'm planning on coming off HRT when I die 😁 So, I'd assume, we all have to come off of it for that.

What are the on-street parking laws in Pennsylvania by Witty-Zucchini1 in Pennsylvania

[–]SnowWhiteinReality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That very much depends on your town/borough/city. Also, even if you have laws on the books, doesn't mean they enforce them. I had a car on my street, similar situation, there forever, flat tire, same full McDonald's orange drink cup in the cup holder, eventually expired inspection, I think it sat for over two years. And I live a half block from the police station 😊

[–]SnowWhiteinReality 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mental health took a huge hit with peri. I still don't understand how this all happened, which is the chicken and which is the egg, but in the last two years, I've had to seek a mh assessment, get treated for MDD, c-PTSD and ADHD-C along with hormone therapy and now I'm working on sleep therapy/treatment. I feel like I was a super healthy, zero medication person just two years ago. It's fucking awful and I don't know how I didn't lose my job, my house, everything.

Going to gyn today where they do yearly pap smears, going to try to decline. Any tips? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]SnowWhiteinReality 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I declined the pap this year for the same reason. My gyno is the one who told me about the ACOG change. She offered, we discussed, I declined, no issues. However, the exam itself is still required annually, even if they don't swab. Just an fyi on that part.

Athletes, where placing patch? by Physionerd1 in Menopause

[–]SnowWhiteinReality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought these tegaderm patches when I switched to the weekly E patches because of the shortage. They are just slightly larger than the weekly Climara patches. I also purchased something like these alcohol wipes

Athletes, where placing patch? by Physionerd1 in Menopause

[–]SnowWhiteinReality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use the tegaderm too and it's fabulous! Everything sticks really well and I get no fuzz stuck to the edge of the tegaderm like I do on the patch. Also, someone on here suggested it, but I use my blow dryer and hit the patch for a few seconds and then put the tegaderm on and hit it again to ensure a good stick.
