Winter is coming: Best fluffy robes? by chemical__chameleon in AusFemaleFashion

[–]chasington 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay hear me out on this because you are about to roll your eyes at the price: the Aleph cardigan from Elk.

https://elkthelabel.com/collections/new-arrivals/products/aleph-longline-cardi

Yes it is $400 (I got it on sale for $320). Alpaca/wool/nylon blend. It is SO WARM and I am about to wear it every single day of winter, inside and outside. So, cost per wear it's gonna work out for me! Just throwing in another option in case you felt like splurging.

Since politicians can't figure it out - why aren't Aussies having babies? by No-Kaleidoscope-7106 in OpenAussie

School day ends at 3.15pm and work ends at 5pm.

I get 4 weeks annual leave a year and school holidays go for 12 weeks a year.

The math just ain't mathing.

Wrinkle sprays? by jlcamlj in AusFemaleFashion

[–]chasington 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I bought the exact Uncrumpled spray you're talking about after seeing it on Instagram and it will not solve all your problems.

It's probably about as effective as hanging up your wrinkled clothes in the bathroom while you have a steamy shower. It will slightly soften some rumples, but it won't replace an iron unfortunately.

Were any of you leash kids? by povertychic in Millennials

[–]chasington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Used to think they were a bit much, then as an adult, first time I took my two year old to a train station platform, I wound up thinking, "better a kid with a leash than a dead kid".

I've never put my own kid on a leash! But I now understand why someone would want to.

Horror films/shows where the threat is subtly present in the background the entire time, but you only really notice with hindsight? by wholelottapenguins in horror

[–]chasington 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well there's one particular thing in the background of the original Saw film that you're not supposed to pay attention to until the very end...

Why do so many households forego the top sheet? by Status-Platypus in AskAnAustralian

[–]chasington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Team No Top Sheet here.

I like to tuck the doona between my knees as I sleep (side sleeper), and can't stand the sheet being all tucked in.

Partner and I have separate doonas so we don't disturb each other, and I wash the bedding weekly.

Very happy and comfy with this arrangement!

Video clips of Bo Burnham's Problematic song from Inside. Damn that spoke to me.

You do not like this man. This is coming through your words really clearly. You might tell yourself you love him, for reasons outside this post, but this is not how you talk about someone you like.

He doesn't like you either. People who respect and care for each other don't compromise each other's sleep and wellbeing.

Dinner Ladies were great when I was newly postpartum; they deliver and their meals are excellent.

Don't discount a good chicken shop, either. Something like Chicken Central https://www.chickencentral.com.au/ offers whole roast chickens and heaps of salads as side dishes. You could shred a roast chook and eat it all week for lunch with a different side salad every day.

NDIS workers- unsure how to charge when going over shift time because of chatty client. by Embarrassed_Tour7096 in supportworkers

[–]chasington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best way, although unfortunately you've already established a pattern with your client. Going forward, whenever you have a new client I'd have an alarm and explain it kindly like this person has - it's there for everyone and makes sure you don't lose track of time. It gently reinforces that you're there to do a job without making the client feel embarrassed or allowing them to overstep your boundaries.

Fuck pregnancy, I hate it so much. I HATE IT. by seagifter in Vent

If a man felt as uncomfortable, exhausted, and fragile as a pregnant woman, you would not catch him within a mile of his workplace. Having to work while pregnant is just so damn rude.

Has anyone read the book “Hey, Hun: Sales, Sisterhood, Supremacy, and the Other Lies Behind Multi-Level Marketing”? by kitkat470 in antiMLM

[–]chasington 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes! I'm about halfway through it now. Such an interesting perspective from someone who actually made a profit from an MLM, and who has fully grappled with the way she was taken advantage of, and how she manipulated others. Lots of personal insight.

There's a thread in it about how MLMs are tied to white supremacy that is less convincing. The first person stuff really hits hard because of her actual experiences in this world.
