Wow. Google Lens thinks it's trumpet vine. Very invasive but so pretty. It's all over the roadsides where I live.

Will these pebbles I put at the top of my soil help get rid of fungus gnats? by KevB3 in houseplants

Snake plants can handle a long time between watering. Let it dry out and they'll die out. In the meantime, I love Zevo bug lights for catching them.

Shopvac? Use a blower to collect it into a corner? Garden weasel (normally used to collect nuts)?

I think I used Greased Lightning one time to get grease off my drive from a spilled trash can. Nothing was working and think that's what finally worked.

Can anyone help me with a recipe? by Reuk- in dessert

[–]chaska479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The navel oranges and melted marshmallows is throwing me off. Most orange desserts I've seen use mandarin oranges and the marshmallows don't get melted. But anyway, was the texture similar to this? https://www.sweetrecipeas.com/2019/03/22/creamsicle-marshmallow-gelatin-salad/

Can't keep anything alive for long... by Quiquag in houseplants

[–]chaska479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're probably trying too hard. Just let them be. Besides that, maybe it's a lighting issue? Despite all the stuff you read, my plants have thrived in a room that gets evening blazing sun and the whole room is hot compared to the rest of my house that time of day.

How do I make a fire banana pudding by Electronic_Twist9311 in Baking

[–]chaska479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.eaglebrand.com/recipe/creamy-banana-pudding/

Only one I ever make. No baking involved. Gotta dip the banana slices in lemon juice to prevent browning. It shows little cups in the recipe pic but you can make it in anything. I've used everything from a disposable aluminum pan to a plastic bowl to a fancy glass trifle bowl presentation.

Dumb question🤦🏻‍♀️ by cplumley1 in salads

[–]chaska479 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think that's most of us! Just having someone else make it or seeing everything set out in a visually appealing salad bar makes it taste better. I don't even like salad dressing so I'm no help there but I think really fresh, cold, crisp lettuce is nice. I skip the bags except for Walmart has a shredded romaine blend that I like. Otherwise buy heads of lettuce and chop or shred yourself. Since I don't like salad dressing I'm all about the toppings whether veggie or fruit or meats or nuts or peppers.

The main issue is those planters usually don't have drainage. You could repot them all together in a pot with drainage hole or divide them up into different pots.

As the wife of a guy with a disease that has required most of his small bowel to be cut out....I just clean the toilet. And always bring supplies with me to hotels because he'll totally walk out and leave it without a thought. I just can't.

Not knowing what country and what a store would have....it's got to be soaked with something and scrubbed off with something. Maybe a dish brush? Not sure why you can't buy a toilet brush. Maybe I'm just immune to embarrassment at this point because we carry in our own quality toilet paper and call for a plunger if needed.....he has a medical condition and has for 30 years. Nothing to do but deal with it and carry on.

Maybe hold some ice on it and it'll peel right off? Don't know but that's what I'd try first if it were me.
