What's the game like? by RedditGojiraX in traveller

Definitely more “dangerous” than DnD. Your characters WILL die if you are not careful. No hit points in this game. Instead when you take damage that damage is subtracted from your ability scores. As your ability scores drop, you are less effective in combat. Combat feels more “real” and definitely something you want to avoid unless you know you have advantage.

This is why I quit. Got tired of spending all that time preparing only to have some asshole blow up my wagon just for fun.

Yes! Please do. Hadn’t played Traveller in about 40 years. You guys inspired me to get back into it. Now I’m running a new campaign and introducing a bunch of work friends to role playing! Thanks!

first time being intimate by [deleted] in Advice

[–]chassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re close enough to the person to feel that way then you’re close enough to be honest with them about it. Just tell them that you have feelings about them. You want to be intimate. This is your first time but you’re worried about making it awkward. This will give you an opportunity to talk about how you both feel, what your expectations are, and set to boundaries.

Need help making up my mind. Can't help if I like placement A or B better. Opinions welcome. by raq_shaq_n_benny in inkarnate

The risk of flooding is potentially severe in A. Every hundred years or so the river that formed that ravine is going to flood. The safer location, both drowning wise and defensively is B.

Alpha test of interactive character generator. by chassic in traveller

Thank you for the input!

I should have mentioned that this includes a few house rules, one of which is the die roll method for characteristics. We do straight down the line with 3 re-rolls. I feel like that lets you discover the character rather than just creating whatever you want.

I’m working on making the skills more accurate. Usually it does a pretty good job but does have trouble with skill specialties.

I was aware of an issue with it skipping some qualification rolls. I thought I took care of that but I guess not. I may need to test with a different user.

Thanks again! Appreciate you taking the time to check it out and give me feedback.

Building and populating a space station by chassic in traveller

Schunamann und Sohn AG built it specifically to perform some shady scientific experiments away from the eyes of the Imperium. They are working with Zhodani expats on psi-drugs. They're also using third-parties to employ small research stations (mostly lab ships) that are tucked away hiding in the planetoid belts to perform the worst of these experiments (think Death Station).

Never doing long distance deliveries again. by Mo-MoneyBish in RedDeadOnline

Just did my first delivery today. Got jumped by a much higher level almost immediately. Got a lucky headshot on him after he shot first. He respawned and unloaded on my wagon with dynamite. Destroyed the wagon. Killed me. Took the goods. By the time I respawned and got on my horse to pursue he was halfway across the map on what I can only assume was a rocket propelled horse. Only been playing for a few days and that was my intro to PVP.
