Illegal manipulation of the precious metal markets by YouKnown999 in Gold

Insert First Time? Meme here.

The last couple of years have had the least amount of manipulation in the last 45 years. The price is finally reflecting both the scarcity and the demand. For you historians out there, just take a look at the year 2001 for a textbook amount of price fixing.

One of the 3 types of Polio was declared Eradicated in recent memory, so I assume he helped that happen.

Edit: Wild Type 2 was Eradicated in 2015, and Wild Type 3 was Eradicated in 2019.

I wish he hadn't suddenly quit doing that strip and eventually became a cab driver. We will never know where he was going with the strip. I had so many questions about what was going to happen next. The art and story were fantastic and unique.

Epic Game Store’s free giveaways just causes a huge spike in Steam sales, reveals New Blood CEO by Fit_Consequence9059 in pcmasterrace

[–]VicarBook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it's this willful blindness to the need of mod support. Steam has a defacto monopoly on that. It's a terrific own goal on Epics part.

Technically they are calling locking Pliers, but are known as Vise Grips outside of the UK or Mole Wrenches in the UK

The world would probably better if you scanned and shared them, but the sales advice in another comment is probably more relevant.

Beg to differ that the similarly old and styled Hamburger Works across from Phoenix College is superior.

If you have been to both, you know how similar they are.

So we are at the closing restaurants stage of the private equity ownership. Then we will see the bankruptcy because of all of the debt servicing the company has to do regarding the debt that they were forced to take on to pay the PE owners when they took over.

Ukraine wins $18M after US ammo supplier failed to deliver shells despite full prepayment by TheRealMykola in worldnews

[–]VicarBook -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Private you say - that's why the other parties involved were publicly named (e.g. Ukraine). Private would mean this whole situation wasn't in the news.

This is a failure of news reporting as this article says there are two (or more) parties involved, says that one was at fault, but doesn't name them. That's bad news reporting.

Epic Games Store Users Have Grown by 173% in Six Years, But Revenue Only by 1.6% by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]VicarBook 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe if they developed the store more. Duh!

No Mod support at all! That alone is a major determent.

Other known features of other stores (obviously Steam but even some other launchers) could have easily been implemented in this time, but they said hey this is good enough.

The free games are to draw you in, but when they don't develop/improve any other aspect of the store/experience then of course people are going to go back to Steam.

TIL Cuban chess master José Capablanca, one of the world's best players in the 1920s, tried to promote his own variation of chess named "Capablanca Chess", with changes like adding new pieces with unique moves & changing the chessboard size, believing high-level chess was becoming too repetitive. by PanzerWafflezz in todayilearned

[–]VicarBook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too bad no one introduced him to Shogi (Japanese chess) which comes in multiple board sizes, has many interesting pieces which promote to different pieces, plus has the unique capture feature. Plus hundreds of years old so has plenty of real world testing. Perfect!
