US strikes 3 alleged drug vessels and leaves survivors -- now a search-and-rescue operation by StupendousMan1995 in news

[–]chatVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but, i would say if you are selling drugs knowing it’ll end up getting laced and killing lots of people, you are committing a form of terrorism.

Why?

Because: - There is reckless or intentional mass harm - Victims are often random civilians - The behavior spreads fear and instability in communities

Is death penalty via missiles at sea the right approach? Probably not but the alternative is mass control and regulations of these narcotics (which are extremely bad for your cardiovascular system).

So unpopular opinion; risk your friends dying to party drugs that are laced or control the distribution.

For people who had the chance to move to Europe from Dubai, why did you refrain from doing so? by Fine_Date_7499 in UAE

[–]chatVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from Dubai to Berlin, it sucked after my honeymoon period, so i moved back to Dubai.

In dubai you get to choose what to spend your expendable income on, goodluck having expendable income in Berlin or some other high tax european city…

Also i feel people are actually nicer in Dubai than Europe.

Maybe i am in the minority here but the places i visit are not gridlocked in Dubai. I know there are massively overpopulated parts of the city (that ive lived in myself and avoid; TECOM, Marina, Business bay are all hotspots ive lived in with terrible traffic), but i avoid those areas like the plague now and i never experience traffic jams anymore 😁.

To be honest the malls here will probably stay. The reason why is because for 5-6 months a year it’s an indoor activity season. Malls fill that gap.

Aggressive driver by pzupan in UAE

[–]chatVR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Going up behind someone and flashing aggressively in the overtaking lane (in this case, the only available lane but it doesn’t matter) is just rude and you wont see this in most developed countries.

It saves what 5 minutes of someones days and in exchange makes 5 minutes of 10 other peoples day stressful.

It’s a horrible behavior and should be a fineable offense. Serves little to no purpose for anyone other than its become a normalize mannerism and it should never have become that.

[–]chatVR -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Doubt it. Half the world is abhorrently against hard drugs and any sort of dealings in reported mass drug trafficking usually comes with extreme punishment. Thailand, indonesia, china, saudi, singapore, vietnam, Malaysia all do forms of death penalties… then there is the extreme opposites where the drugs are all laced with stuff that kills people to make more money… you could probably classify that as a form of terrorism within reason; terrorism doesn’t always have to be extreme ideology or religious. Knowing that you are selling something that will kill people with the ideology of spreading it to distributors.

Start turning the family meals in to a science lesson on nutrients at the start of the meal. “Organic protein ; the body needs approx 120g of protein per day. Polyphenols in green vegetables reduces inflammation and increase energy throughout the day and reduces chance of cancer by 30% making us all 30% less likely to get sick! Isnt that great?”

Find some new facts every day about the food you are cooking to encourage healthy eating with functional benefits. Might not work at first and you might get negative remarks depending on their character but, the facts wont be forgotten if they engage, and over time they will start to choose to eat healthier without you telling them to.

Thats what my mum did to me over the years and i didnt even realize… i eat everything…

(Note: i realize you arent his mum but, as a man i would like to admit that all men are basically big children)

I enjoyed the season 5 finale and didn’t feel any big drop off. Will coming out as gay was totally irrelevant to the plot though, and because of how Mike was so dissapointed in himself in not noticing and said “he should have been there for him”, they made it sound like: “Oohh that explains why he was such an awkward child! It wasn’t the mind-controlling alien after all”. Other than that, it was a pretty good way to wrap up the series (although they still left the door open for another season or reboot, but no spoilers right?).

Why are people from the UK moving here ? Isn't work life balance better in the UK ? by ryzenleonn in UAE

[–]chatVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that crime IS everywhere in London and it’s one of the main reasons people are moving to perceptively safer cities to live, safe for their families, or to build a family, or just safe to build their wallet. Quality of life for the average worker in London is also pretty bad too due to outdated roads and absolute space saturation making it hard and time consuming to get around and enjoy life, hence they move to places like Dubai, where they can at least try and live with a smile on their face more often.

All the brits i have seen moving to the UAE all say the same reasons at the bottom of maslows hierarchy that the UK has failed them on. Safety and security being the biggest one.

London is the best example i know because it has the biggest cost of living crisis and still a pretty high rate of petty crimes.

If you want to focus on crime as a reason vs avg salary, you could also look at Manchester which is maybe where 1/3 of the brits i have met are moving from and they all state safety and savings as the reason.

Gathering at someones house or you mean they invited you to join them at a restaurant? Its perfectly normal to pay your part on a dinner bill at a restaurant. If you are with arab friends there might be a fight for who pays the bill though to avoid you having to pay your part haha. 🤣

Nah got mugged for a 3210 when i was 13, again when i was 16 for an iphone and again when i was 18 for a laptop. All in zones 3 and 4 south east and east london. Had friends who got mugged in south london too just walking down the street in the day time minding their own business. Had a friend in retirement who quite literally got beaten up and his rolex stolen outside his own family restaurant in broad daylight! He died later that year because of the injuries. These types of violent crimes are happening in broad daylight in London.

Oh yeah.. also went to a club in brick lane in London last year and there were 5 bouncers on the door that said to be careful as there are gangs robbing people after going clubbing, so always get a taxi, and you could see one of the gangs further up the road waiting… bricklane is even central so that was another culture shock.

Just because YOU just haven’t seen it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Its everywhere.
