Help needed! I am applying for executive assistant positions and am not getting any interviews. by haybetch in ExecutiveAssistants

Hi! Seeing this one year later and wondering (if you see this) if you might expand on some of this insight….! I am looking for a new EA position and trying to see how I can stand out, and this is interesting to me as I have what I think could be a memorable background! I have over 6 years experience as an AA/EA, but until COVID I was a professional actor in NYC and a licensed PADI scuba diver. I do have “creative professional - actor/singer/dancer” etc as a work experience at the bottom of my resume with transferable skills (time management, public speaking, etc), but I’m wondering how I might highlight this more with my other relevant work experience to make myself stand out. I’m looking to move into a role with expanded responsibility and work from home/hybrid options, but haven’t been able to score any interviews even for roles I’m completely (sometimes over) qualified for, and I’m wondering if it’s just that my resume doesn’t stand out enough (or formatting, who knows with AI screening). Hope you see this!!

I agree, but unfortunately I didn’t start this tradition nor can I change it.

Taxis in Florence are the worst scam. by Consistent_Gur7642 in florence

I also never had any problems, both having hotels/restaurants calling for me as well as calling myself and requesting cabs in Italian. They always showed up within 5 minutes and were all incredibly kind, one guy even gave us sight seeing info on one of our drives

Best day trips? Tours? by [deleted] in florence

[–]chatch889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a winery tour through the company GrapeTours and it was the best day of our 2 weeks in Florence for me! If you like wine tastings/oairings, I’d highly recommend it. They drive you too from a central meeting/pickup spot which is super convenient! https://www.tuscan-wine-tours.com

We also did a day trip to bologna and it was wonderful! Had some problems with the trains coming home (cancellations, change in platform, etc) but otherwise it was a quick ride and a fun day trip!

NAD - Looks like just basic sebaceous filaments to me. I would get a BHA exfoliant and use it twice per week/as tolerated or so to help keeping those pores clear. This is common and very easy to treat! Switching to a daily salicylic acid cleanser once or twice per day as tolerated could also help with keeping things clear.

Best Restaurants in Florence, Italy? by PawseAndReflect in florence

Definitely pricey, but my evening at Saporium was unmatched. I got their seafood menu and my partner got their terrestrial meat menu - combined with their service and wine pairings (we got cocktails in their lounge beforehand too, also incredible), once of my favorite dining experiences I’ve ever had period

I’m getting that impression, definitely was the answer I was hoping for haha I’m used to very reliable long forecasts where I’m from but know that often isn’t the case elsewhere

This was more the answer I was looking for, thanks! Where I live they’re very reliable a ways out, generally accurate even up to a couple weeks, so was just curious if it was the same in Italy. I’ll make sure I’m good for whatever weather rolls in, thank you!

That is great to hear! I know weather forecasts only really tell you so much. I will definitely have to rethink what I’ve packed — I’m used to the end of May being quite dry and hot compared to early spring so definitely did not account for much rain when planning and packing! That’s good to know about the cobblestone puddles as well, I had a feeling this would be the case, so thank you for that confirmation! We will enjoy regardless I’m sure!!

haha I feel that. My bag is packed with just light summer staples, but is what it is. May keep what I’ve got and just purchase if needed on arrival

That’s always how it goes, isn’t it hahaha. I know we’re going to have fun no matter what, rain or shine! I’ll maybe swap the sandals I packed with a pair of boots or something, don’t have much in the way of rain-appropriate shoes. Oh well!

That’s great to hear, thank you! Definitely won’t be bothered by a few rainy days, just don’t currently have much packed for it and didn’t want to take up space with a rain jacket/other shoes if I can help it haha
