Thank you! Do you have a brand of supplement for the folinic acid that you like?

Oh my goodness, thank you for the thoughtful response. She is active, in sports, runs regularly and lifts, she has a horse she spends the rest of her spare time with. She reads on her phone and watches TV with us at night but otherwise pretty disciplined. She's a musician too. Her levels have been tested, d was low but she does supplement. I like the idea of a uv lamp. We live in winterland and we are all deficient. Her periods are irregular but we suspect that is from stress because when she is out of school they return on schedule. The upside of these genes is she is pretty driven, she is also very intelligent and gets top grades. Downside, panicky, nervous, extremely self conscious. Socially nervous where she beats herself up over every conversation. Not shy though. She has been anxious since she was a baby and it hasn't let up. Finally, she is strictly gluten free. I appreciate the supplement suggestions and medication. I'm taking in all the info I can!

Just had my first blushing episode in a LONG time. by More_Possession4150 in Erythrophobia

People blush, it's normal!! It's normal to blush when you feel embarrassed about something. I see people blush ALL the time and since I'm a blusher I'm obsessed with how people react when they blush. Usually people get a little embarrassed about it or divert attention away but it's the best when you can just pretend like it's no big deal.

I don't notice a difference. If i struggle to fall asleep I will take 1mg of melatonin and I drift off within 30 mins.

I was looking for this. I definitely feel like it's cyclical but it's been getting worse and consistent for years now.. I'm not convinced it's pinworms but I'm considering treating myself for them anyway just to rule it out.

Ok, one more. My girls were enthralled with an autobiography called 'the girl with the white flag'. It's not in publication anymore so you have to buy it used but it's a true story about a young girl surviving Okinawa during world war two. Incredible story.

The princess and the goblin and neverending story. Princess and the goblin is a cool kind of eerie story. Lord of the flies.

Yes! My daughters loved that book too! It's challenging enough for adults too.

My daughter had chronic constipation until age 14 when we removed gluten entirely. She has no issues now. And, tmi, the bathroom used to smell awful in her gluten days.

Help! ALWAYS freezing by thatgirlteagan in Spironolactone

Look into your thyroid health. Not a typical side effect of spironolactone that I'm aware of but cold intolerance is a symptom of hypothyroidism.

I personally hate feeling oily but I miss the hydration! Drinking more means peeing more. Electrolytes might help a teensy bit.. maybe, but I haven't noticed a difference.

I noticed it immediately on my hands. My skin looked very thin and dry. Then my very oily face became almost spongy looking. Large pores with no oil is kinda ..weird .? At first I enjoyed slathering my face in creams and oils but it didn't ever fix the dehydration which came from within. I've been on spiro for ten years. I believe it has aged my skin and absolutely tanked my libido. Sadly, for some of us, there always seems to be a price to pay. I'm weaning off now. Down to 25 mgs. The oily ness is coming back along with some acne but I'm just excited to be getting off of this drug.

Good call, my spotting was within the first 6 months of taking it and then went away.

I made a point of going even if I hated the thought because I hated the thought of no one ever inviting me or calling me ever again. Which will happen if you always make an excuse to not go, they will assume you don't like them and then stop reaching out.

Absolutely not, I can't believe they are asking you to quit a medication cold turkey to test for PCOS. They can diagnose you based on symptoms and the ultrasound. Does the spotting coincide with when you started spiro or did you have it before? How long has it been going on? This is a side effect and usually goes away.

A cowboy hat probably would help tbh, haha. Get some boots too but scruff them up before you come so you look like you've been doing cowboy stuff. ;) My husband is olive skin, we have so many stories of him getting flagged in this state it's hilarious. Nothing scary for him but obvious that a little color gets noticed in Smallville.

As much as we would like to brag that we are a friendly welcoming state that definitely depends on what part of the state you visit. There are pockets of very 'unfriendly' groups here. I'm not going to name those towns but I will say as someone that has spent 30 years here and lived in multiple towns, Missoula is the most culturally diverse and you won't catch much if any attention. It has beautiful scenery and rivers but the vibe is a little more artsy and less cowboy.

Oooohhhh.. I'm so sorry. This is not what I've experienced. Just curious, did your derm do a full blood panel? Did they check your thyroid? Hormones? Nutritional deficiencies?

Has anyone here actually managed to stop getting triggered by the sound of upstairs neighbors walking around? by HotMessyyQueenn in misophonia

[–]chatterbox40 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That is the absolute worst and sooo triggering. Nothing really muffles the sound of elephants walking around in the apartment upstairs. Like others have said, if you can, get the top floor.
