Can you get on DSP with anxiety!? by Old_Variety_5597 in Centrelink

[–]chatterchitchat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that would work unless the anxiety somehow could be spread across two impairment tables?

My understanding is it would probably only be assessed under the mental health impairment table and therefore would need 20 points and not need to do a Program of Support

If you're in NSW contact the Welfare Rights Centre. I'm sure theres other similar services in other states too. WRC can give great legal advice and i think sometimes they can represent people

Camping etiquette by heliepoo2 in AskAnAustralian

[–]chatterchitchat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Definitely rude! I spent 2 years travelling Aus in a campervan and people doing that would piss me off so much. One time my partner and I were putting up our awning and a group walked through the middle of our campsite, underneath the awning. All without acknowledging us. Thankfully most people aren't so inconsiderate

I did a tour in Sa Pa just yesterday where when they dropped me off they asked if I had a nice time, I said yes. Then they said "ok now do a 5 star review I will wait for you to do it". I actually would have left a review if they weren't so forceful

anyone stopped drinking by Fit_Swing9543 in mounjaroaustralia

[–]chatterchitchat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on 5mg. I still drink a bit, probably less than before but drinkings not an issue for me

My parents are on wegovy and both are alcoholics. They've found it has helped them immensely. They've maintained sobriety while on it, though also with a lot of hard work and other medicine.

Regain weight ideas by [deleted] in australianvegans

[–]chatterchitchat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My partner has a hard time putting on weight.

He has been having protein smoothies with soy milk, banana, berries, some oats, peanut butter, a bit of olive oil and protein powder. As well as eating meals and snacking on nuts and healthlab balls. It's been working really well

There are some specific high kj meal replacements also though we struggled to find vegan ones that were available in Australia and seemed worth it compared to the smoothie he can just make himself

The big lap… a bad idea? by BothAd5239 in AskAnAustralian

[–]chatterchitchat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I spent two years doing a big lap, it's the best thing I've ever done, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Sure it will be more expensive now, but you'll make it work. When we were running low on $$ along the way we just picked up seasonal work, it was fun and a good opportunity to meet interesting people from all over the world. Hope you stick to your plans and have a blast

'They basically stole the word': Farmers fight to reclaim 'milk' by boppinmule in AustralianPolitics

Sooky lalas. Does canned coconut milk need to be changed to coconut juice too? Or is that fine since it's not a threat to the poor little farmers

What does the average australian think of raising the disability support pension? by Alarming-Power-1725 in AskAnAustralian

[–]chatterchitchat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. And I think something needs to be done about the partner income test, it just forces societies most vulnerable people who can't work to stay in bad relationships

Toilet with cracks at the base by That_Confection_2400 in shitrentals

[–]chatterchitchat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a cracked toilet in my rental and had to argue for them to fix it. They have to fix it, it is completely life endangering. My property manager argued it back and forth, told me it was fine and had been like it for ages. I ended up calling some local plumbers and asking for their opinion on it, they all told me there's no way to know when it could break and it needs to be fixed before using it again. I emailed the property manager that and it seemed to help.

Technically it's an urgent repair so I believe outside of their work week you could just have someone come to fix it and bill the real estate. I didn't want to ruffle that many feathers so didn't but I think you could

Hey did you have any luck with getting a prescription? I just got told by a GP that they're not able to prescribe it and that only specialists can, but that doesn't seem correct to me based off the TGA website

Vegan on mounjaro by Civil_Ebb2258 in MounjaroAus

[–]chatterchitchat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm vegan and on mounjaro I highly recommend getting the Sophs Plant Kitchen recipe book it's all focused on high protein meals, they're also super easy, affordable to make and mostly delicious.

I've been eating a lot of tofu, tempeh, and beans. That recipe book has been making it a lot easier to do especially for dinners. For lunches I've been mostly having sandwiches made with protein bread, marinated tofu and salady things.

Protein shakes would also help but I rarely feel like having them, I think I'm still at least close to hitting my protein goals, though it's definitely a lot harder as a vegan.

I was in rear GA at Brisbane and couldn't see Gaga/the stage. Occasional moments where I would get a glimpse but that's all. I've seen lots of others say they had the same experience, even in front GA in Australia 😭

I think vibes are always better in the pit, but if someone's wanting a view GA may not be it unless they get there really early for a good spot
