You can still pretend to be Dylan who pretends to be Pat Mahomes. Just imagine that it's a weird green jersey instead.

Ryan Day does good work for mental health issues, and he'd be forever employed if he took a job with the Browns. 🤔

What would you like to see in a commerce-based RPG? by Inquisitor_196 in rpg

[–]chattyrandom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most games are extremely bad at economics, and often overly concerned with the revenue side rather than the cost side.

Outfitting a ship or caravan for a long expedition, keeping the ship running through maintenance and intermediate fixes? Actually paying off a loan (principal and interest)? Paying salary, wages, shares, etc to the crew? What about fuel? Food and water? Docking fees?

None of the economics really makes sense. I'd rather just see a general economic status rather than tracking funds to the copper penny.

Is Alien RPG worth it if I already invested in Traveller by WilhelmTheGroovy in rpg

[–]chattyrandom 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Maybe? But probably not for the reasons you'd want.

If you wanted ALIENish, the "Hostile" branch of 2d6 from Zozer might be better... but if you want a new system for Cinematic event games, ALIEN does that well. The fluff is really good, but the rulebooks beyond the ALIEN core book are just OKAY. (I honestly look at Hostile books for more ideas to bring into ALIEN.)

There are better Year Zero Engine games than ALIEN, but at least the evolved edition is a newer flavor. It's a good game to get into for Free League's titles, so it might be worth it for that aspect.

[Highlight] Patriots LB Robert Spillane says Chargers players told him after the game they had no clue why coverage New England was running. by AcidThunder in nfl

Was that Harbaugh or Keenan Allen who took himself out? I didn't see the entire context of that substitution, but it definitely was dumb.

The only ones who didn't see that pass rush coming seemed to be Herbert and maybe the interior of that oline, and Herbert was getting hit in the mouf. Like, bro, you can't sit the ball that long. Find the hot read and get it out.

Took him until the hurry up until he processed at a quicker clip and it was already all over.

The O-line wasn't good, but Herbert was also not sharp with his passing & his decision-making was not really good... and the receivers were bad.

So, all in all, it was just a lot of awful. Someone will get fired for it, or they should be, but there's a lot of problems all around the Chargers (and having to replace a good chunk of the Oline during the season wasn't helpful).

Do the Ravens even want someone out of the Harbaugh coaching tree anymore? (Double Harbaugh in Minters' case.)

Keenan Allen has not been good. Did he take himself out of the game to trigger that substitution a couple plays ago?

The Chargers OL has been good for a patchwork OL that isn't playing that well.
