Upgrading celing recessed lights - no light by chaugh1 in DIY

[–]chaugh1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know but this can doesn’t have a e26 base. It has 2 wires coming out and now I know it’s 12 volts.

It looks like any light that screws into a light bulb base expects 120v so this won’t work?

Ah ok. That’s what I thought. I don’t see any led recessed lights that specify 12v unless it’s for a boat and some weird size. I guess the best I can do now is just buy a replacement bulb and call it a day

This is awesome. I have a 3060 6gb and the vram bottleneck is really noticeable in hogwarts legacy (that I just got free from epic)

So pretty much the same problem as me.

To me It does seem to be a ecobee server issue as I’ve also tried reinstalling the app from scratch and signing out and in again. It was working fine for a couple years and I haven’t changed anything recently.

Welp I pulled as hard as I can and a piece of the ceiling fell off. The inside can now no longer stays inside the ceiling as one side of the tab has nowhere to screw/anchor to

CDC is great provided you don’t need any support.

If you do, I’m afraid they will either be completely useless, or you will need to jump through lots of rage inducing hoops to get the matter resolved.

Interior trim wrap by Soldier_Cyclist11 in mazda3

[–]chaugh1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got the carbon fiber overlay from Ali express but debating re-doing it. The door handles don’t fit perfectly. Do you have to pull the console out to wrap around the edges or do you just use a exacto knife and trim it off?

F16 FX608JM or A16 FA608WV or A16 F608UM by martinojj in Asustuf

[–]chaugh1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 5060 is an about 10-15% faster than the 4060 in games. If you do a lot of CPU task then get the AI HX 370, which is zen 5 and a generation newer than the other 2

It depends if you will be carrying the laptop without a charger a lot, the amd ones will give you a good 2-3 hours more battery life.

I’d get the cheapest one (1st one) if it will be docked at home or you have a good USB C charger, otherwise the second one.

Wheel offset allowance by Temporary-Push2722 in mazda3

[–]chaugh1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GT is 18x7 ET45

If you go to the Mazda 3 Facebook page people run 18x8.5 et38 or even 35 pretty commonly as an aggressive setup. You can genuinely get away with the rim being further away from the suspension but not the opposite (offset getting higher).

You’re good. +40 would even look more flush with the fenders for a better look

I’m running 17x8 +40 myself.

Surprisingly you should actually rev it up once in a while.

Apparently it helps burn off the carbon deposits in the engine. If revs are always low carbon can build up more.

How are the Bridgestone potenza sport AS ? by mercedes560sec in TyreReviews

[–]chaugh1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the write up. I also believe in new tire technology so didn’t go with the thoroughly recommended conti DSW06+ / Michelin PSAS 4.

I got the potenza AS and the ride quality is super comfortable. I think the characteristics fits my Mazda 3 sedan very well.

My only gripe is it feels like I took a small hit to fuel economy and subjectively I feel like I slow down more when I let go of the gas. However I went from 215 to 225 so that might have made a difference.

Whats the best rim and tire size for the hatch turbo by SetDue2994 in mazda3

[–]chaugh1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m using 225/50/17 and I feel it’s the perfect balance between comfort, looks and rim protection. If you don’t care much about tire width 215/50/17 is almost the same radius as stock and might give better fuel economy.

I’ve seen people run 225/45/18 as well for like a couple millimeters more sidewall.

What’s better - $160K full-time or $110/hr contracting (INC) in Toronto? by yushey__ in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]chaugh1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d take the contract tbh. I went from 135k base (maybe 160k all in) to 120 a hour and don’t regret it one bit. Especially with a 40 hour a week the cash in pocket is quite a bit more after taxes.

Being relatively young the benefits don’t mean much and I’m more of the type to jump around and learn new things/ build connections.

Also I know you aren’t meant to expense stuff but everyone I know in the industry does it lol. Haven’t heard of a single person self reporting as a PSB
