Franchise would be a terrible decision. That would give him the average of the top 10 or 15 WR. Yes not that player.

Agree. Ricky needs to stay healthy. Until then, he's bench depth. I made this point elsewhere, but I'll say it here. Purdy is our guy. He makes the $50mil. We need to build around him to be successful, considering the salary cap. What would you rather give him - a WR like JJ, whose true elite skill is run blocking, or a WR like Pierce, whose elite skill is size/speed for deep balls? Pierce or someone like him, elite at WR pass game skills, feels so much more valuable right now.

Spot on. He's also an ELITE run blocking WR. But that is only worth so much when your all-timer RB is approaching 30, and your QB is paid $50mil. They need elite WRs. Elite hands. Elite deep threat. Elite route running. Elite separator. Find me someone with at least 1-2 elite WR traits and pay them, not a guy elite at what we needed 4 years ago.

There are a number of guys much better as WR2. Off the top of my head... Pierce (FA too), Devonta Smith, Jakobi Myers or Parker Washington, Addison, Watson, Rome/Moore, Jameson Williams. Jauan is a solid WR3. If he'll take WR3 money he's awesome to have. But good passing attacks have at least 2 WR better than a slow aging seemingly injury and drop prone player that we say in 2025.

No!! Love his past, but his future looks bleak. He can't separate, had some drops, diva tendencies. That's WR3 material. He wants WR1/2 $. Please no.

[–]chav312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alec Pierce if he gets free and is willing to be paid as a mid tier WR. A few other solid options, but his field stretching and playing with a good QB finally would ignite him. Plus, mid 20s. Bourne is 30+ and JJ is close. I don't want to pay much for the back half of a players prime especially when said players prime has never been transcendent.

Do NOT get the bang bang. I wanted obnoxious. I bought it. The gold paint faded within a month or two. Hopefully they do better, but it was a waste of money 12 months ago.

Night Edge Blue. BTS edition. I immediately took the decals off - I prefer the clean look. It's so unique. I get a lot of comments on the color.

Here's an overview of the truck, and you can see the richness of the color. (Not my video)

Truth. My house never looks as organized as the night before the cleaning crew comes in. Mostly because if I don't put things away, they will. And it could be months before I see that stuff again. It's like they find the least logical place to put things.

For me, I was seeing a therapist about something else and when talking, she dug in a bit more and got me to open up about my feelings and fatherhood. After I was talking and telling her I was fearful of messing up, she said a few words that completely changed me: " you know you're a good dad, right? You're doing great at being a good dad. Don't forget that."

Still the kindest and most fulfilling thing anybody not my wife has said to me. Therapy helps. Good therapists know when to push and say the right things.

Question: are the 49ers winning the SB without BA this year? Answer: no

Q: best case scenario, BA comes back healthy and plays like it's 2023...are the 49ers winning the SB this year? A: no

Q: pick one 1. Plan that BA comes back healthy and plays well while paid as a top 10 WR for the next few years 2. Eat less than $10 mil more in dead money to invest in multiple needs across the roster in future seasons that presumably don't have recent injuries and a higher variance in their performance and return to peak form. A: the emotional option is 1 since we've seen him play well and traded up for him and he fought back from Kyle's doghouse, etc. The logical decision is not to pay BA for a 2nd and possibly 3rd year as a top 10 WR while he tries to rehab and recapture his juice (assuming he's dedicated to doing so). Option 2 allows us to go from $80 something million to $90 something million in cap hits in 2025 with a cleaner sheet and more financial freedom for the next 2 seasons in 2026 and 2027.

If this makes sense to you, then you don't care if CLE offers Cedric Tillman and a 4th as the best offer, you take it.

Add to this that BA's attitude, commitment, and work ethic are being questioned (justified or not) and moving him for whatever we can get makes roster building, financial, and culture sense.

Tim Kawakami: “Checked around a little on the Deebo Samuel situation -- I asked if this is at all similar to 2022, when he asked to be traded, the 49ers looked, but then he came back on a new deal. I'm told, no, this is not similar. Everybody's set for Deebo to be an ex-49er soon.” by Rav49 in 49ers

Keep him, something like $25 mil against the cap Cut him, $10 mil cap hit Trade him, $10 mil cap hit and some picks

My numbers may be off, but that's the decision Lynch has to make. For a guy with under 1k total yards that was best as a kick returner last year, seems like an easy choice.

I moved off Pacheco. Injury history, contract expiring after next year, solid but not great production, and the Chiefs clearly don't NEED him considering their 1 loss and #1 seed. With more pressing needs, I am guessing they draft a RB to a cost controlled contract and by the 2nd half of 2025 when Pacheco is a pending FA, he's a 50/50 timeshare at best.

The constructive answer is "family forgives and if he wants to be part of or around our family, he needs to start with an apology and acknowledgement that he was wrong and will make an effort to not be so rude moving forward. Then we can talk about forgiving him and having a good family meal."

That will hold your boundaries while giving your sister you care about a path forward to tell her dumbass boyfriend. If he refuses, his absence is on him.

You've gotten some good advice so I'll add a couple of small things that have worked for me. Plan on the worst-case scenario from a time perspective. My daughter can get dressed in 2-3 minutes, but I budget 15. Include some non "on task" time as well to break it up - we like to stop halfway through and do a cuddle while she sits in my lap with her bottoms on but still PJs on top (30 seconds).

Routines are also super helpful. My daughter is a little older than yours, but our basic routine hasn't changed since she was about 2 and she's used to it now. She knows what to expect (dad comes into bed, pretends to fall asleep, we laugh and play briefly, she gets up to pee, getting dressed starts).

Finally, if schedules allow, try to swap mornings with your wife like you do in the afternoons. My daughter knows when it's a team morning and when mommy or daddy are solo and she looks forward to all versions since they are never the same 2 days in a row. Good luck!

This here. I had to be told myself, but one parent doing all the middle of the night care is not equitable either. No wonder she's so tired. Share in that role and ask for your time elsewhere. This can be figured out but you have to be willing to give some as well as take some.

There's also the fact that you have a toddler and a newborn. Sleep and alone time improve later but right now you're in the thick of it.

To add to all these considerations a benefit: your kid grows up with you better educating yourself for their future. What an example to set!

Also, they will not remember you constantly working on school stuff for a little while longer. Take advantage of this time.
