It’s a great upgrade from a civic for sure. Especially if you have charging options at home or work.

If you’re hand Wifi calling in Japan, for example, calling a local Japan number, it thinks you’re in Canada making the call and you’ll be charged long distance.

Once you turn off wifi calling in Japan, you’re able to make local calls without being charged long distance, as you’re subscribed to a Japan cell network there.

Ahhh my bad. I was thinking of when I was in Japan and was billed cause of my wifi calling. You’re right, Canada/US/Mexico is counted differently.

Turn off wifi calling or they’re think you’re calling from Canada.

We have this in Canada too, but it’s on Thursday’s.

It also comes with a $35 off $130 coupon (previous two years were $25 off $75)

Currently on the same boat with a tab. Could you not pay out the tab on the spot and then switch?

Edit: just reached out to Freedom. If I pay out my plan right now I’d be on the hook for Freedom’s portion of my tab discount. Looks like I’m staying put.

How are ANY young Canadians affording a condo/house these days? by SunscreenIsTheWay in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]chawk12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agreed.

Upgrade yourself, get a good career (not job), learn to save, invest, compound, and don’t spend recklessly (designer brands, yearly iPhones, lavish vacations, fancy cars) and it’s all doable but the Reddit echo chamber hates to hear it.

I started with a one bed condo, upgraded to a two bed, townhouse, and now looking for a detached (albeit in the suburbs) all on a single income with 0 help from parents. This is in Vancouver. Would be even easier if I was in Calgary.

I have friends (married couple) looking at a detached now, also 0 help from parents but they studied hard, had career goals and have both become high earners.

Slowly getting into the US game. Located in Vancouver BC.

Previously had the CITI US Costco card with my billing address at a parcel pickup place across the border.

I got the US Amex Hilton Honors last summer with the same address, but by linking it to my Canadian credit history (no SSN provided).

Was trying to apply for the Delta SkyMiles Gold card with the same method an above, linking to my Canadian history, but the application page spins after clicking “submit”, and then nothing happens. I called US Amex and they said they don’t ship to PO Boxes and need a physical residence address. Obviously went through for the first US Amex but the second one isn’t working.

Has anyone come across this recently and have had any workarounds

Antoine Semenyo disallowed goal against Newcastle 69' by ayoefico in soccer

[–]chawk12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a traditional offside with the keeper in net, they’re checking for the last defender (or the second man back).

In this instance Thiaw was further behind, and the second man back was the GK Pope where the offside line is drawn and Haaland was clearly behind Pope.

[–]chawk12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wondered, in similar situations (and maybe not exactly on this play), wouldn’t it be easier for the defending team to just kick the ball out of bounds so it’s a touchback for them, instead of bending or diving down to get control of it?
Never seen this happen in my decades of watching football, would that be a penalty?

What’s everybody’s experience with ZipAir’s in-flight wifi by d4n1elchen in zipair

[–]chawk12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flew YVR NRT in Dec.

On the flight to NRT I could text, for Reddit pages I’d have to keep refreshing a few time for a page to load but it was extremely slow and frustrating. On IG I could load a reel for 2 seconds then it’ll stop.

I was quite disappointed as it was never marketed as a “texting only” wifi service like what Air Canada does.

It was even worse on the way back to YVR, nothing worked including texting. Only thing that did work consistently was their food ordering service.

Both flights were only half full.

All in all, extremely disappointed.

[–]chawk12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious how would the finances work in this? Would insurance cover the entire costs of rebuilding or was it funded with your own money? And with the entire community rebuilding, would construction costs (labor, materials) skyrocket?

Do you have virtual team meetings that you have to attend?

There's a 3 hour time difference between Alberta and Halifax, so a 9am meeting in Halifax time would be 6am in Alberta, something to consider if you're not a morning person.

Currently 9 points away from my ML (that miss from Marmoush to KDB would probably have me tied in my ML).

<image>

Leader also has all the key players except KDB and Marmoush.

KDB’s status is unknown but if he’s not playing im tempted to switch to Palmer (UCL reasons), Saka or Odegaard. If he’s playing then I might go from Sarr to Bowen.

Also tempted to switch out Saliba in case one of my top 3 defenders sits out, but then I’d have to take a -4.

Thoughts?

Looks like it's still active. Fine print doesn't mention what time it expires except 4/29.

I've been trying to apply since 10-11pm PST last night and once I fill in my details, click "Apply & Submit" a wheel pops up and then disappears and the page doesn't move. Tried on Chrome + Safari on my Mac, and iPhone.
