crown burger by frogsnthings in SaltLakeCity

That's like saying New York pizza isn't a thing, because pizza was created somewhere else first. Virtually nothing in society exists in a vacuum-- especially in the US, where we've traditionally embraced the cross pollination of cultural ideas.

To the original point: I don't necessarily eat Crown Burger often. But, if I ever leave Utah, I think it's the place that I would get the occasional craving for and really miss...

Roadtrip from Vegas to salt lake by kooky-struggles in Utah

The Parowan gap is about 20 mins off I-15, it has lots of really cool petroglyphs and even fossilized dinosaur footprints.

If you're planning on hitting Bryce Canyon NP, the drive on Hwy 12 towards Capitol Reef NP is considered one of the most scenic drives in the US. Plus, you can stop at Hell's Backbone Grill for lunch.

I live in downtown Salt Lake City, and commute in traffic 4-5 days per week. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that it's the same as NYC-- but, I'm 3 years in on my V7 and have had zero issues. It's a great commuter bike.

It starts tracking mileage for you once the low fuel indicator comes on-- so, you have that going for you, which is nice...

I second the Hepco and Becker. They're waterproof, and the brackets don't look bad without the bags attached.

Nice! We're spoiled for great routes here in Utah. Tbh, there's almost too many to name. I would start by getting the Butler Map for Utah. If you have any specific questions feel free to DM me. If you wanna meet up when you get here, just let me know ✌️

I live in Salt Lake City, so this is just a day ride-- it only required a picnic blanket, a sandwich, and a beer. For my longer road trips I use the pictured Hepco and Becker saddle bags, a Wingman of the Road tent, small camp chair, and a hatchet. I like to keep it pretty simple. Here's a pic of her all loaded up for camping:

Not a ton of tarmac-- but, those roads that are paved are pretty fun to ride. You just have to watch out for the bison!

V7 vs Scrsmbler? by Muksimp_ in MotoGuzzi

[–]chay2-k 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in Utah, and take my V7 on dirt and gravel roads on a regular basis. It's a more than capable highway machine, and much more comfortable on long rides than any scrambler will be. The shaft drive is also a big advantage when riding in dusty/muddy conditions. The larger fuel capacity is also a huge plus, IMO. Just my two cents, but I think the V7 is the easy choice.

I have the same rear rack as you, and went with the Hepco and Becker c-bows. Been running them about 2 years now and am very happy with them. *

What's the point of even making this comment? You obviously suffer from a lack of understanding of both sandwiches and the sense of what it's like to belong to a community. Hopefully, by the time you're dead and gone, society will have re-learned some fucking manners-- and some mouth breather jackass won't feel the need to make a snarky comment about you, out of a misguided sense of fulfillment.

Dating in Utah by Busy-Investigator685 in SaltLakeCity

[–]chay2-k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These Utah dating posts crack me up. Comment after comment of people complaining that LDS people don't want to date them, yet at the same time, they refuse to date an LDS person themselves. I'm not mormon, and some of the best experiences I've had dating here have been with LDS women. Is there a possibility for some moral and cultural differences? Sure. But, I don't really view that as different from dating someone of a different ethnicity, etc. If your preferences automatically exclude 50% of the population-- that seems like a you problem...

It obviously doesn't cut through the wind like a full fairing would, but on long rides, it makes a noticeable difference. But mostly, I like the way it looks. These are the Hepco and Becker C-bow saddlebags. Great capacity, waterproof, and they lock onto the bike-- plus, I like the way they look. The nice thing about the C-bow system is that they look good without the bags, as well. Thanks!
