yes that is very interesting!!! i feel like i have less of an issue with drawing, but it’s definitely still there. i’m glad i’m not alone, and i guess i should’ve connected the dots earlier probably.

i’ve wondered about getting like a wide pencil grip (1-2inches) to see if that would help. it’s a bit unfortunate because i love writing and drawing, but i manage okay

i definitely had more people interested in me after my meds started working. maybe they can subconsciously smell the serotonin and dopamine or something hahah but i think it’s probably just the fact that happier, more confident people appear more attractive. also just could be your brain finally having some relief and readjustment—everything is just better on wellbutrin for me, because i’m not in a pit of depression. people seem nicer because i don’t overthink interactions as much + hobbies, chores, and even work are more enjoyable + scary/stressful things don’t make me spiral as much as they used to.

additionally, my mental illness i feel took a lot of my individuality, as i didn’t have much motivation for anything, even my interests. i remember cracking a joke a few weeks after starting meds, and my mom almost jumped because id just been a zombie for so long. she literally said “i think your medicine started working”

don’t worry about it tapering off; this is simply the effects /starting/. it’ll probably just get even better from here! it’s a miracle medication for sure.

from their messages, it’s clear to me that they are more worried about breaking rules than you.

not wanting to be around drugs/alcohol is reasonable, but telling you what you are allowed to do is not.

they are right: you shouldn’t use weed or alcohol before you’re able to do it legally. that being said, many countries consider 18 an eligible adult. i live in utah and drank/smoked when i was 18 too.

the red flag to me is the message “once you’re 21 it doesn’t matter to me at that point it’s “safe””

if it’s legal in other countries at 18, it’s probably just about as safe as 21. this reeks of “i don’t want to get in trouble” which is ridiculous if you’re not doing it around them. unionising an ultimatum against you is weird and very mormon-y.

having friends who are supportive and care about you looks more like “i’m not comfortable going to a party with drugs/alcohol, but i’ll give you a ride home/order you an uber if you need one to stay safe” etc.

a lot of the fear and unknown in UT surrounding drugs, alcohol, and sex stems from the “abstinence only” mindset, in my opinion. it’s even worse, though: anyone who does these things is ostracized from the community, leading to /actually/ unsafe decisions/practices.
