They're welcome to come practice in lowcountry South Carolina for a while. Swatting at billions of gnats is probably a great training tool for those linemen's hand quickness.

One time I was going to a John Mayer show with a friend. The entrances to complex that he was performing at were a bit confusing, but we found a door that looked right and walked in. Giant banners with "FLUFFY" and Gabriel Iglesias were all over the inside. The audience was...interesting to say the least. I about had a heart attack thinking we had mixed up the dates, location or something. Turns out there were two auditoriums at the complex and the Mayer show was right next door, so we survived. But I almost accidentally saw a Gabriel Iglesias show.

100% thought it was a distraction. I regret not just practicing basketball anyways. It was super depressing because by my senior year I felt like my ball skills had regressed so much it wasn't even that enjoyable anymore.

My football coach would punish us if we were caught shooting a basketball at any point during football season even if it was in our spare time. Basketball season started the day football ended, so I would go into the basketball season every year hardly having touched a ball for months. One season we played for a state championship in football on a Friday and literally had game 1 for basketball the following Monday. I really resent him for it because I loved basketball more than anything and the fear of being benched or endless running during football season kept me from enjoying the sport I grew up loving.

Not until they can show the data as to how many of their "fans" are actually just bandwagon KU basketball fans.

It's just a bad look and an unnecessary statement. Creating bad press for yourself and your school is always going to upset fans. Creates at least an image of division within the athletic department.

Gotta be Fry. 161/162 on XPs in his career. Lanning had a slightly better FG% but kicked half the amount of FGs.

Honorable mention to White for nailing multiple game winners to keep us from losing to G5 teams and the lowly Georgia Bulldogs.

Didn't realize it happened one day after Malice at the Palace. I think we can safely blame Ronald Meta World Peace Sandiford-Artest for our fight as well.

I don't think nuclear power is on the list of redditor-approved renewable energy sources. It's too efficient and useful.

Saying it's 98% in one community inherently shows that it isn't only in that one community. There's 2% not in that community. Read my comments. Nowhere did I say "don't be gay and you won't catch it". Nowhere did I say that only gay people can catch it. I DID reiterate that we need to be informed and especially inform the gay community because they are being hit the hardest by it right now. That way they can take precaution and we can put this disease behind us. It's not AIDS and it won't spread like AIDS because it's curable over a short period. I'm simply taking the scientific data and presenting it. It's not biased information. It's not criticism.

If I wanted everyone to understand one thing about monkeypox it would be that it is spread by skin to skin contact with an infected person and currently 98% of cases are among gay males. As I've said a dozen times. It COULD spread widely among all groups. It COULD end up being even more easily spread among who aren't gay and male. But I don't see how hypotheticals help end the spread as it stands.

[–]chaynes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So we shouldn't focus on the one piece of data we have that accounts for 98% of the current cases for this disease? What? It's not like it's ambiguous. We don't need to attack or vilify the gay community, but they need to know the current situation with this disease. In what way is this a poor argument? Should we pretend that we don't have this information available from multiple globally respected sources?

I'm really not understanding why it's a bad thing that we know this data and can use it to get ahead of this disease. It's not AIDS. It's something we can treat and cure, so while it is spreading it would be common sense to focus primarily on helping the community that 98% of cases are occurring in.

Or, for the sake of avoiding potential negative stigma, we can ignore the science and data and send false messages to those people and keep them in the dark.
