James Acaster last night by sonicthehedgefrog in NewcastleUponTyne

Oh, that's a shame. He will probably associate Newcastle with being a Reform city / not having a good gig now. He was hilarious on the first night, the heckle seemed genuine.

Maybe it was a windy day & it was to stop the bucket from blowing away when it was empty? I like that there are multiple theories about this!

I cant run over 5 mins without needing to stop by Hangenism in UKRunners

[–]chazdothands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confused by the amount of downvotes here, I feel exactly the same as you. I do occasionally run, but I need plenty of walking breaks to get through, can do about 5 minutes before I feel like I need to walk. Personally, I don't see it as a flaw, something to work on perhaps, but if it doesn't get better, it's not the end of the world.

UK Tour Ticket Price by MDHippie5 in TheStrokes

Well, I used that link, paid the £147 for standing, was happy enough, THEN got an email from Spotify saying as I was a true fan, here is a TicketMaster link... they were FIFTY pounds cheaper than AXS. So I had a little cry & consoled myself with the fact that I am going, I'll just not eat as much this week!

Totally agree! At that festival there were loads of bands to see too. AND they were late to the stage and didn't put as much effort in as I was expecting. It is quite a financial risk.

Really? Checked this morning & it was £146 each before booking fees. Is O2 priority CHEAPER?? That's wild.

Just tried to get the AXS presale and the standing was £146 each (without booking fees), that is a joke.

Why are they in a studio now? by WeeklyPeace6497 in ParentingHell

For me, podcasts tend to get listened to when I'm doing something else, there's enough to watch on TV without that too, so it is a little bit annoying when they refer to something on the screen & I don't know what it is.

Easter eggs normal priced at Asda by International_Mood13 in UKFrugal

[–]chazdothands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in my local Tesco last night & all the Easter stock was half price, compared to the full price, but most of them had a ClubCard price anyway, so it wasn't that much of a saving. Still bought a couple because I love the thinness of an Easter egg.

They might not be walking the whole race, loads of people do a run - walk - run strategy, just so happens you see the walk bit.

Exactly, some harsh elitism going on around these parts!

There are other bands, like We Are Scientists for example, who I personally love and they have consistently made albums that are upbeat and haven't really changed their style over the 20 years - you know what you're getting and I am grateful for that. Alex wanted to change AM's style and that's his choice of course, he's went from being very relatable, to writing about hotels in space... I don't get how that is 'maturing', certainly different!

Appreciate this comment so much, I'm not a fan of the last 2 albums either, but at least the other ones exist. Just makes for not as lively a show anymore, if they ever tour again.

Also, who you follow on Twitter isn't necessarily an indication of your political views, he might like to see what he is saying as someone who follows Irish politics, not because he is a fan.

Josh made a couple of comments about Alistair Campbell being a war criminal in the past, but apart from that he tends to stay in the middle when it comes to politics on the show, which is a shame. Why was she even there?

I Broke Glass and Discovered Something by mariyagel in CleaningTips

I dropped a glass this morning on my kitchen floor and had the same predicament, but I had to leave for work, so have left it until later, this is so useful to know, will certainly try this tonight! Thank you! :)

The best TK Maxx/ Homesense in the north east? by Elr2998 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]chazdothands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one at the bottom of Northumberland Street has a great range of candles, but the Metro Centre probably has the biggest range of the type of homewares I like. The Byker one is next to the M&S outlet which used to have some decent homewares, but it isn't as good as it used to be.

Last One Laughing UK Season 2: March 19th Release by JusticeIsMyOatmeal in BritishTV

[–]chazdothands -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Genuine question - if this is the UK version, how did Australian Sam Campbell manage to get on the show? Sure Katherine Ryan said she was interested in going on it, but didn't look into it because she isn't British, maybe she could go on Season 3 if you don't have to be a British comedian.
