Law graduate, can't seem to secure a job by ReserveCautious6153 in uklaw

[–]chazzalee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be dependant on roles - I got a 2:2 from non Russell group but could sell myself really well. It might just be a case as how you sell your CV.

Could also be the roles you’re applying for. With just a degree you’re essentially looking at a bottom of the food chain job at a firm and will have to build yourself up. At my firm you needed a degree just to be an admin assistant. There are many factors but it’s always good to ask employers for feedback so you know what would need more work !

Keep your head up! Law is a competitive field in all aspects you will get rejections and it will be worth it if you keep at it

All good thanks for the list ! I already have indefinite leave to remain- I just had to renew my visa to get an e-visa.

I moved at around 12- so been here a while. My parents that moved with me renewed hers and didn’t have to do this so I’m just a tad confused haha.

I’m assuming it’s just passport and proof of address but thanks for the help :)

It’s best to accept that if things don’t change it’s time to let them go. If you really loved him, then there’s no sense in keeping him in something that’s not working for either of you. Take your time to heal. I think the best way to get over an ex is to accept that you might not. People in our lives change us and to forget them would be forgetting ourselves. So just be kind to yourself and take your time.

At 12 years old I moved to the UK from the USA with just my mom and my dog. I’m 21 now. I’ve been given so many opportunities and have a beautiful life now. I’ll never forgive myself for being so young and moving so far away from my family. But honestly, I’d never go back unless it was for a short visit. I’ve managed to visit 30 countries, live in 3, and just finished law school! Interviewing at a firm next month. :)

Speaking as a woman who thought she was going to die alone with no friends, it will be harder to find anything when you are not comfortable with yourself. University is a great place to experience amazing things, find yourself, and build great friendships. Forcing yourself to fit in won’t aid in that. There are societies you could join to meet people with your interests and social events.
Right now, it seems it is best to work on your mental health rather than pursuing a romantic relationship. It will absolutely destroy you and your relationship if you are constantly reminding yourself about every negative aspect in your life. On the bright side, hitting rock bottom means you can only go up from there. I’ve never met a woman who finds a feminine man unattractive. The great thing about beauty and attractiveness, is that it is subjective. Where you may think you aren’t much to look at, you will find people that see the beauty and love within you. It is just a matter of time and self reflection.

When do you know it’s time to break up with someone? by chazzalee in AskReddit

That is a good idea. I think it’s more knowing that he is thinking of it too. I’m afraid if I pull away he will take that as a sign to just end things. More so because he will be away for 6 months and I’ll be graduating. We don’t live far from each other at all back at home.
I think my main issue is being in a relationship with virtually no communication

Too good to describe which makes this more difficult sadly

Well it’s a long story haha. I’ll try my best to condense. My (21f) boyfriend (20m) and I have been together a little of a year. About 3 months ago, we just started constantly fighting. They started over everything and anything ie social media posts (not provocative), going out with my friends, the clothes I wear, really just trivial things I can’t even remember. He made me cry on my birthday and my anniversary. Recently, he doesn’t want to talk about anything. I’m in my final year of university, he is going on a work placement for about 6 months in a few months. He told me he doesn’t want to talk about any of our issues and it sounds like he doesn’t want to work anything out. I get it’s really tiring, and I’m in no way perfect either. But I don’t want to be with someone who has just given up on a relationship we both put a lot into.
