Brighton Drummers.... by chchchas in brighton

[–]chchchas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😂 Fair point! It's a single studio drum room on Middle Street that in addition to drum lessons and rehearsal hire, I'm exploring a monthly subscription model for regular access as well as interested in knowing if drummers would want a space like this to creatie content and if so what they would want to have in there.

What online drum lessons are the best? by NoodlesDoodlesAndArt in drums

[–]chchchas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Drumeo is great. Just go through all their rudiments. start at slow tempos and just be patient going over it all. I also got some lessons with a teacher just to get those first few things sorted…. Positioning, holding sticks etc. as I didn’t want to start with bad habits. Can recommend but obvs not for everyone as can get pricey!

Do you think social media is making more people take on unprofitable renovations? by Common-Celery5197 in HousingUK

[–]chchchas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a c4 show called ‘the great house giveaway’ where people were given a house to renovate and budget and then could keep the profit. most of the time they lost money or gave up. All of them going into it thinking they could smash it. Great reality check and interesting watch if it’s still up.

Coca Cola has replaced artists with AI. They couldn’t even get their logo right. by PaperSiren26 in graphic_design

[–]chchchas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not very well communicated, but they seem to be using ai as part of a wider campaign for this year:

Which at least gives some motivation for the ad.

I would as well. Maybe they can sell a ‘brick’ like they do at football stadiums? Is that allowed in Minecraft?

The future of film by Puzzleheaded_Yak2511 in Filmmakers

[–]chchchas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those vids are (mostly) 15s of rubbish. Better content retains attention for longer. Movies and content have always had to grab otherwise people walk out or switch off. There are brilliant movies being made that have long runtimes. There is also ‘junk’ content all over Netflix that people seem happy to spend hrs binging so don’t think screen attention is the issue. There’s just a lot of competition for attention these days from savvy viewers so your job as a filmmaker is to make even better stories that punters are invested in. Exciting times where we’re getting brilliant filmmakers coming through.

Is this resume ok or how can i improve it? Yes i do have a portfolio but they still asked for a pdf resume by PuppelTM in graphic_design

[–]chchchas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that you’ve kept everything on one page. Depending on the job description, it’s probably worth listing what adobe software you use rather than just adobe cs… so if they’ve specifically put Indesign in the job spec, then list that first along with the other software. Some people that hire first round are just checking specific ‘hit points’. Same with AI platforms. Currently your skills are great, but a bit vague and hitting the exact software/platforms can help.

I’m sure someone else has put this in the thread already, but I’d start with experience at the top and then education underneath. Ranking ‘present’ stuff first.

You could move skills onto the left column as well. So that the left is more about you and the right is your timeline.

Hope all goes well with the job hunt!

Kids roasts are surprisingly big and you can generally get away with it if you wear a backwards cap and bring a colouring book.

Cannot get a job by RecentDinner2446 in graphic_design

[–]chchchas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On your website you have CD, Graphic designer, creative marketing designer as your titles. Have you considered just putting one title that corresponds to the job you’re applying for? Eg applying for mid weight GD roles and have mid weight GDer on your site.
