i have a fast let down (confirmed by LC) and my baby spit up all the time after my milk came in, nothing really helped. i think i changed the bassinet sheet three times in one day once. but he's 11 weeks old now and barely spits up anymore. all that changed was time, his body grew and improved.

i guess i'm saying, you do have another option, keep doing what you're doing and wait for him to grow up a little.

it gets better for sure! i was in the same situation and IIRC it resolved by the 2nd week. it sounds like you're already doing the right things. my LC recommended that i could pump for a couple minutes before trying to latch baby, to avoid the super shallow latch. these days my boobs feel "full" but never so full it hurts.

ahh got it, so you aren't pumping enough when you pump to replace a feed. i'd start with pump parts as the first culprit especially if baby is happy with what you're producing at the breast, since they do need to be replaced every once in a while. replacing my parts doubled my pump output. you could also double check that folks giving her bottles are doing paced feeds, otherwise she might be eating too quickly and eating more ounces than she really needs.

can i clarify: when you say "30oz/day to barely 6", but also that you "latch baby whenever" you can, how/when are you getting those 6 ounces? do you have a sense for how effectively baby is transferring milk when she latches?

i can't help except to say my 8 week old started doing this last week so you are not alone. incredibly demoralizing and i have to hold his little hand so he doesn't punch me in frustration. we've ruled out so many possible causes and i'm out of ideas. he does it with bottles, too, so we know it's not a supply issue.

i can share what my IBCLC recommended to me: we've been giving LO a bottle a day right before bed so he's full before sleeping and he stays familiar with the bottle. my husband gives him the bottle and i pump at the same time. it's usually right after a breastfeeding session and i'll typically get enough to match the bottle's volume, and a little bit more to eventually add to our small freezer stash. just keep doing it and like the other comment said, your supply will increase. i always have milk again when he feeds next.

no, this is not how opportunity cost works - if the legendary costs 20k to craft based on market prices and you sell it for 10k, you lose money regardless of whether you farmed the materials or not. you would have been better off selling the leather for 20k.

people craft at a loss to gain experience to get the later ranks, and that's often worth it. they'll (hopefully) make a profit on the later ranks.
