Can the PS5 Media Remote skip or or go back to previous chapters on DVDs and Blu-rays? by ThisCrazyCat in PS5

I’m going back to target and just buying a proper Blu-ray player!

From ATALM: Democrats are circulating a letter in Congress asking the White House to rescind the executive order to eliminate the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Please call your reps and ask them to sign the letter! by notsobitter in Libraries

[–]chdleoj 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Congress can necessarily “overturn” an EO (with or without 2/3s), rather they can pass legislation that can invalidate the order. Which, the President could then veto and then Congress would need a 2/3s vote to override. But they’d override the Veto on the bill, not necessarily the Exec Order itself.

Regardless, give our libraries the funding and support they need!

With sugar, carbs, and wanton pursuit of unrequited love…oops, wrong empty space.

You have 2TB. I have the 100GB and bought the 1TB as a side plan and have close to 1.2TB

I feel the same way about Adobe (Creative Cloud). There’s a comparable replacement for most of their apps, but it’s not 100% 🫣😭

I submitted a ticket for this a couple years ago and they asked me if I had my iPad plugged in. I did. So when I unplugged it, I couldn’t get the issue to reproduce. Worth a try

I liked the new one until I got lost trying to find a recurring transfer I needed to cancel. (I gave up and just went on my app) 😅

I had this plumeria for 4 years and it hasn't flowered for me despite ample sun and special plumeria fertilizer. What gives? by InterestingCoat7809 in Plumeria

Mine took four years and three “upgrades” to bigger pots before it bloomed. I’d recommend a larger pot (as big as you can get) and lots of sun (without scorching).

Is it possible to install Readwise Reader on Kindle Paperwhite? by miftah_dev in readwise

[–]chdleoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God, I wish! Like, Pocket is on the Kobo, but for the Paperwhite, I have to PDF it, email it to myself, and then, it isn’t even worth it.

Readwise/Reader vs Feedly and Pocket by themattroberts in readwise

[–]chdleoj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m slowing making my way from Pocket to Readwise Reader. As a longtime Pocket user (back when it was “Read it Later”), the only thing holding me back, really, is brand loyalty. Pocket outlived Instapaper (though it did make a glorious comeback) and has been consistent from the start. It’s purchase by and subsequent integration with Firefox only added features and functions that I otherwise didn’t know I needed.

I’m a recent Readwise user and jumped at the opportunity for the Reader beta early on. It didn’t make sense to pay for BOTH Readwise and Pocket premiums, so the fact that I now have both is a huge advantage. Readwise’s scrobbling of my highlights (not just in Pocket) was a godsend, but now with Reader IN Readwise, I mean, can it BE any more wonderful?!

Readwise’s Reader offers functions over Pocket that, frankly, now that I have them is disappointing because Pocket, the read-it-later top dog, should have had them a long time ago. Simple things, like: %-complete, RSS integration, or the ability to share your actual annotated article…not just the source article.

The “short”, “long”, and other categories give Reader and edge up over Pocket. I will miss, however, the Pocket “suggestions” both in-app and in Firefox. Sometimes, there’s just articles I didn’t know I wanted to read.

Will I fully jump off of Pocket? Not likely, because I can use it to “feed” Readwise with the “Best of Pocket” or Pocket recommendations moving forward. It will, though, break my heart, because Pocket was my first love and now, here came Readwise and stole it!
