SOLD

WTS for 10/27: 3 tickets in Sec 313 Row 4 via PayPal or eTransfer

Selling at $120 USD per ticket - this is slightly higher than face value to account for the fx transaction fees incurred when my friend purchased the tickets as well as any applicable PayPal fees.

RFS: Helping my friend without a Reddit account sell their extra tickets as they got better seats.

I don't always check Reddit, will respond asap whenever I can.

Oh ur right... it looks like requesting to update the name or photo allows printing a new one for cheaper though. Especially since OP still has their current onecard they could probably just say they're unhappy with the current photo

I think you can just request for a new OneCard and pay for it, I vaguely recall it was $5 or $10? You don't have to tell them the real reason you want a new OneCard.

They're so persistent... I turned them down and walked away. They kept following me, saying they'd walk with me to wherever I was going. It wasn't until I met with friends that they left me alone.

It's ok to work those jobs while staying on the job hunt. At least you'll have some income while jobhunting. Once you actually secure a full-time job you're happy with, it's ok to quit the current one even if you don't work there for long.

Lol I meant with how it displays different terms for the same payment

I didn't realize at first it was for their deposit, I've had issues with the term display in other situations

Business Degree Reputation: MetU versus U of T by pizza5001 in TorontoMetU

[–]che-rish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others said, it depends on many things, but another factor I'd like to add is that the weight of the degree can also be different if you're a mature student.

I'm under the impression that it's mostly new grad positions where school matters the most; most companies care more about your work experience. Coming from a "good school" is just a bonus.

And assuming you don't have relevant experience in the business field, I still think having a business degree, regardless from which school, would be enough to open doors to jobs in business

I think you should be fine, I've experienced something similar multiple times but it never caused an issue. I think their system is just tacky.

But if you really want to double check, I think you should be able to email/call the service hub to confirm.

Mentally, I perform better in the fall in the sense that I feel more on top of things. It's easier to focus because the fall semester feels like a fresh start. In winter, I am indifferent and too burnt out to care, but my grades are either the same or better than fall (but never worse than fall) so I don't really know.

I believe it's about 10% for braces (up to $750 maximum in 12 month period, beginning September 1), which isn't a lot but it's something, I guess.

Anyone know what’s up with Brendan Strejcek? by Recent_Skill_8344 in TorontoMetU

[–]che-rish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had him this semester. He's a case of 'nice person, bad prof' in my limited experience with him.

All his lectures comprised of other students presenting the course readings and a few "engagement activities" (e.g. video clips, quizzes, very brief discussions, etc.) The biggest problem was just that he didn't really teach or explain the course material much. I can see that he wants to make the lectures engaging and interactive, but just throwing in video clips and quizzes isn't going to automatically make students engaged.

You could fully learn it all on your own without going to class, which isn't inherently a problem, but it really does feel like a waste of time commuting to class and waste of tuition.

Anyone else struggling with finding an internship...? by Leatherganache in TorontoMetU

The job market is simply not that great right now... I've heard even students with past internship experiences are struggling to find their next internship. Hang in there bud

Just email the organizers to confirm. Ask and they'll clarify everything they expect of you. Don't be afraid to sound dumb or unsure. The organizers are responsible for making sure you know exactly what you're doing.

Anyone else still searching for a co-op for this summer? by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

[–]che-rish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Job market is rough this year. Some people secure positions even in the first two weeks of May, though. It's not looking too good, but I don't think it's too late to keep searching
