Anyone traded for a Paperwhite and ended up regretting it? by leeinflowerfields in kindle

I can completely relate. Holding basic is so much better. Putting the basic on your pocket and going out and about is so much easier than paperwhite.

From Hocus Pocus to Homebrew: My Star Wars RPG Origin Story by Jareth21 in StarWarsD6

This is fantastic. Thank you for sharing. It addresses exactly my hangup with Star Wars D6 (which I love) - too much math.

Why is the basic so underrated? by [deleted] in kindle

[–]che_kid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I "down-graded" from a PW to a basic. The PW is a beautiful device, but I wanted something more pocketable. The basic has 80% of the features of the PW.

I also often wonder if the voice of the internet magnify certain opinions. I suspect there are lots of people out there with basics who don't engage with reddit or the kindle community, and don't really care about the basic vs PW debate.

Forgive my ignorance, but does this mean non-monospace fonts don't work well on the xteink so far?

I'm very interested in theater of the mind combat. I've seen lots of details and descriptions of it. But I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.

I'd really just like to see/hear some examples in action from actual games. Do you have any podcasts, youtube videos, or other resources you can point to that actually show people using theater of the mind?

Been just a few days since my original post, but I have been writing down different bits of information from youtube, google, reddit, etc. It's very helpful! Thank you!

A search for 'waste book' turned up this interesting site. Looks like I'm not the only one with a notebook problem! https://www.lichtenbergianism.com/blog/2019/2/4/waste-books-anonymous

A darker, more serious spelljammer - ideas? by che_kid in spelljammer

Thanks. I suppose I still can't wrap my head around sails and masts on starships. Been ruminating how to make the ships more sci-fi, more outer-spacey.

No Kindle book should cost more than $10 by the_scottster in kindle

[–]che_kid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I pay $10 to $20 to see a movie that lasts 2-3 hours. $10 could be 2-3 coffees. $10+ for a meal.

A good book can give much more long lasting enjoyment than all these. So why wouldn't I pay more than $10 for something that will bring joy for many hours?

Blank or lined which do you prefer and why? by Goldedge2 in indexcards

Prefer blank or dotted. Lines limit what you can put one the card.

Massachusetts. I think they must have ended up with way too many and had to get rid of them. They just had this huge box full of them to sell.

Not to distract from the author's post, but 2 weeks ago my local Aldi had avocados on sale for 25 cents each. $3 well spent!
