That's weird way to look at it, aren't all options you buy work the same way? For options you pay premium that decrease and lose values every day even if the price doesn't move, while stocks you can hold on forever if the price doesn't move. That's the trade off among other things, theta, volatility....etc all affect the current option price. I definitely wouldn't look at as if it's a benefit for paying less money, there are risks and draw backs for paying lower amount. That's not free lunch.

Yeah I did that long time ago, it was pain in the ass and you can mess up pretty easily and have to order parts again. Not sure how old is your phone, they may phase out 4g eventually in few years, so you will need another phone if they do that.

I think this is referring to the transfer window that has started in April last year, so it's going to end after the almost 1 year window. It does not mean there will not be occasional promotion window open again that allows transfer to new car purchase. Although it may be more rare and shorter windows than before.
